Star Wars- The Last Jedi, starring: Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, release Date: December 15
Our favourite hero, Luke Skywalker, meets a young woman Rey who allegedly has the Force. Exciting stuff? Maybe not but if you’re craving the flashy lights, cosmic setting and loveable characters of your childhood this is a pretty good place to start. Of course, it’s probably not going to reach the soaring heights of our old favourites but either way, it can’t be worse than The Phantom Menace.
Stronger, starring: Jake Gyllenhall, Tatiana Maslany, release date: December 8
Life affirming, inspirational, poignant: cliches this film will undeniably live up to.
And it’s based on a true story so prepare to shed a tear. After losing his legs at the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, Jeff Bauman is faced with the impossible task of adjusting to his new reality.
This film follows our resilient protagonist as his friends and family try to help him with both his physical and emotional recovery. Jake Gyllenhaal and Tatiana Maslany – the many faces of hit TV show Orphan Black – are set to portray this candid look at incomprehensible hardships with all the grace it deserves.
