Description

The MXR M133 Micro Amp is an effects box that lets you boost your signal using a single control knob. Kit is available with a standard sized 1590B enclosure with battery, or a mini 1590A (36 x 90mm) enclosure with DC power only, though be aware that you'll be wiring in a very confined space. Adding a preset amount of gain with just a single control, the Micro Amp is a great way to boost your signal for lead work or adjust between two different guitars with unmatched output (i.

I got this pedal inspired by the equipboard of Caleb Followill from Kings of Leon, but also this site recommends this pedal. Thirdly, the new design also greatly reduces the background noise to far below that which was exhibited by the original as well (to -87db).

Fifteen years later when I sold the amplifier and I thought I wouldn’t need Micro Amp anymore, I sold it in a vacuous moment. Ich würde das Produkt wieder kaufen und empfehle es all denen die ganz einfach und benutzerfreundlich etwas mehr aus dem Amp kitzeln möchten. I have less need for multiple amps or channel switchers if I recognize that my wannabe-59 tele is not a hard rocker and I save that guitar for ballads and such where a clean, chimey tone and a little less volume at 10 is quite alright. Also, if you adjust your gain just right, just a little higher, you’ll be able to go in and out of grind by increasing and decreasing the power of your picking attack. moments, I realised that by carefully following the instructions and calming down that the build was not half as hard as I expected it to be!

Which is odd, given that Seymour Duncan makes a similar device that isn't just a boost pedal, but actually has a bit more going on under the hood. After looking for a pedal to suit a beginner with literally no soldering experience and very little electronics knowledge I settled on this lovely Micro Amp kit! The Gain control works similarly: there’s plenty of subtle travel down near the bottom, allowing you to use the Gain control for fine gain makeup.Because you will be driving the first tube gain stage with the clean boost rather than driving the second tube stage with the first, you will probably also hear a different character to the distortion as well. At full range, you obtain a greatly overdrive increase (depending your amp will raise the volume or the gain). Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED. Therefore, please bear in mind that "live performance" is the perspective from which the rest of this review is written, as I have never bothered to use this pedal in a recording context--since two different guitar signals recorded on different tracks can be blended to taste during mixdown, with levels raised or lowered accordingly. That said, the M-133 is a pretty flat sounding transistorized boost pedal, though it doesn't have the tubey sparkle of a ZVex SHO or any other jfet or mosfet based booster.
