As I used the binoculars more I found I could get a steadier view. Bracing my elbows on the wall of the SkyShed POD also helped. Venus appeared elongated due to its phase. M13 (in Hercules) was definitely a large globular cluster. The Double Cluster looked very nice, as did the Pleiades. M31 (Great Galaxy in Andromeda) looked large even though the sky was not totally dark. I tried for M57 (Ring Nebula) but the sky was not dark enough. I did observe a very faint satellite passing through Cygnus. Although the satellite was faint to the naked eye, it appeared very bright in the binoculars. Having dual 70mm aperture lenses really helps with light gathering. There is some coma around the field-of-view (FOV) edge. The crispest view is at the center. I did some comparisons with my old Orion 7x50 binoculars. The 7x50 binoculars have crisp views across the entire FOV and a handheld steadier but fainter view. The FOV was also wider with the 7x50 (6°) vs the 12x70 (4.6°). The moon was gorgeous in the 12x70. There was a very slight color fringing around the moon but it was not objectionable." Requiring a close range approach to shotguns the Flechette is a deadly round capable of shooting through tougher armour and can even make short work of class 6 with brute force. This is not a slug round though so you’ll find your shots only effective at the closer combat ranges. By modifying your playstyle though this is absolutely still a viable option to load up your shotgun with when available.

Ammo types also have modifiers to weapon durability and malfunction chance. These are stats inherent to your gun that can be affected by your ammo choice. Generally, armor-piercing rounds drain your weapon’s durability faster and have a higher chance to cause malfunctions. Guns over 90% durability are extremely unlikely to malfunction, so stay on top of repairs to mitigate this. Cloudy skies, with periods of rain (1.68" total over two days), continued until Sunday, 24 November. With clear skies in the forecast for Sunday night, during the morning I went to the observatory and wiped rainwater off the dome. The sky started clearing after sunset, but then began clouding up again.

I began observing the night sky using the Celestron Cometron 12x70 binoculars at 1835 MST. The sky was dark as astronomical twilight had almost ended. I first viewed Venus; the collimation was way off. There were two Venus images which were widely separated vertically (the binoculars were horizontal, as seen at the right). Fortunately (or unfortunately), there was enough play in the eyepieces holder (allowing the teeter-tottering mentioned early) to move the holder in a vertical direction to correct the collimation. I focused the view to my left eye and then used the diopter adjustment on the right eyepiece to bring its view into focus. It was necessary to rotate the adjustment to the extreme "+" position; my Orion binoculars are in focus for both eyes with its diopter adjustment at "0". This is probably due to the play in the eyepieces holder. Fortunately, I was able to achieve a focus for both eyes. Some users might not be able to achieve a good focus since no further diopter adjustment is available to the "+" side.

Powerful all the way up to tier 6 armours M995 is a staple end game round that makes it the best 5.56 ammo in Tarkov although it has a difficulty of acquisition to match. Available from a slow and expensive craft it’s unlikely you’ll be able to acquire large volumes of this round so don’t expect to run it regularly. The similarly powered SSA AP round trades some damage for increased penetration although is equally rare. While not quite as deadly as the M61 above in terms of penetration power the M62 can still deal with class 6 armour with a few hits and has better availability. The green tracer also makes this useful for sniping depending on your preferences as it can give away your position but is useful for long range sniping raids to adjust your shots. M62 is available from high Peacekeeper so you won’t be using this too early but it is available likely long before M61 is even a thought. Monday, 25 November, dawned with a clear sky and frost on the ground (temperature 34°F). The observatory was opened at 1809 MST, 51°F. The sky was clear but there was a slight breeze. At 1816 MST, viewed Venus in the 8" telescope, 83X. The crescent phase was nicely visible. Mid Tier: Once you feel confident in your Tarkov abilities and overall stash value you’ll want to consider moving into a mid tier ammunition. While not every calibre has a mid tier option the ones that do offer you a reliable PvP ammo if you expect to face other PMCs or fight one of the Tarkov bosses. It’s higher expense or lower availability means you might not always be able to use this ammo though. The caliber used by the KS-23 shotgun, which Tarkov veterans may have some strong opinions about. A close-range hit to the lower body with these rounds can one-shot a player, making their armor completely irrelevant. The Zvezda flashbang round can also blind nearby players for a potent (if unnecessary) blind-then-blast combo. 9x18mm Makarov

We inch closer to the meta with the standard 9mm NATO SMG caliber. AP 6.3 and PBP rounds have enough penetration to deal with low-level armor and can shred higher-tier protection with enough hits. The fire rate of guns like the Vector (9mm) and MP9 makes that feasible. .357 Magnum Here you can do daily quests and gain reputation. Worth remembering that progressing your 'Whites' reputation will mean lowering a majority of other factions. While an uncommon ammo type shotguns are split between slug and shot variants that can be fun to use and outright required in some quests that demand Scav and PMC kills on specific maps. Quests like the Silent Calibre, Punisher Part 4 and Spa Tour Part 1 might leave you wondering which is the best shotgun ammo Tarkov has to offer for these quests.

Best ammo in Escape From Tarkov

This appears to be unrealistic due to the amount of ammunition based on the S-Tier category. However, this list has been created applying to the "books" of Escape from Tarkov. Each of these ammunition types can pierce through and kill any enemy wearing level six armor. Mutant spawns have been overhauled, to make the zone more alive, but also more fair and challenging

The short UltraCut FBS II R, with a reduced embedment in depth, allows for a short drill hole depth, fast installation and less reinforcement hits. The Cometron's wide field of view lets you observe large areas of sky to easily locate your target object and then keep it in view. Whether you are looking for an astronomical object in the sky or a terrestrial object on the ground when nature-watching, the wide field of view is always an advantage. The generous eye relief also ensures comfortable viewing and makes these binoculars suitable for spectacle wearers too - no matter whether you wear glasses normally or wear sunglasses for nature-watching on a sunny day. Celestron also have a fantastic selection of binoculars for the casual user or junior birder. The choice can be confusing and we will always do our best to help you match one of our wide range of over twenty Celestron binoculars to your personal preference and priorities. Now we’ll go through the best ammo of every caliber in Escape From Tarkov. There are a whole lot, so strap in. If you’re just looking for some of the best overall ammo types, the best ammo calibers in Escape From Tarkov patch 12.12.30 are 7.62x51, 7.62x39, .45 ACP, 7.62x54R, 5.7x28mm FN, 5.45x39mm, 5.56x45mm and .338 Lapua Magnum. All stats here are sourced from the official Escape From Tarkov Wiki. 12x70mm

The Tarkov best ammo guide table below includes all available ammunition types and is structured as follows: The most important ammo stats are damage and penetration, neither of which are affected by your gun. Damage is mostly self-explanatory; this is how much damage a bullet will deal to the body part it hits. Penetration is a bullet’s ability to penetrate body armor and helmets. This is where we have to get into a bit of math. The caliber of choice for Russian civilian rifles, .366 TKM is most commonly used by Scavs. This is an ammo type you will typically avoid, in part because the guns that fire it aren’t very good, and in part because the only round with competitive penetration has enormous accuracy and recoil penalties. If you do land a shot though, .366 AP is devastating. 5.45x39mm I ended observing using the 12x70 binoculars at 1949 MST. The humidity was just too high (57%) and the eyepieces began fogging up.
