It’s strange looking at myself in the early footage, because so much has happened since, both in my life and the wider world. Our aim was to create a series charting the journey of a house over a period of years, to reassure people decorating their own homes that it doesn’t happen overnight.

Because we were always working with a constrained budget this project really is never ending, but I think my taste would be much less interesting if I could always have exactly what I wanted when I wanted it.
