About this deal

Emma spent time at the event signing copies of 'The Evolution of Home' for her guests, which were available for purchase courtesy of Potterton Books.

I've followed both Sims-Hilditch and Emma's own personal profiles on social media for a while and to have tangible versions of the photos in book form to browse and use as a point of reference is just fantastic really. His work has been published in The World of Interiors, Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, The Saturday Telegraph, ID, and Vogue. But the realities of life with a small child swiftly showed how impractical that was, and as they became more scruffy it made the rest of the house feel less finished. The environments she makes offer an insight into the considered house of the future--simple, beautiful, and practical, advancing a new style of living that is transforming not only the lives of homeowners but also communities. The environments she makes offer an insight into the considered house of the future: simple, beautiful, and practical, advancing a new style of living that is transforming not only the lives of homeowners, but also communities. It’s strange looking at myself in the early footage, because so much has happened since, both in my life and the wider world. We had to save for a long time to get it, and it took a long time to make, but it was absolutely worth the wait. An interior is a constant dialogue between the building and it’s owners as their lives and tastes change, and I have always felt you can sense when that conversation has gone quiet.

But Emma’s also an interior designer in her own right and now, with the publication of her first book, she can add author to her list of accomplishments. You will find treasures in their spaces that you won't find in consignments--extensive collections of vintage jewelry, a deep dive into Asian antiques, an eclectic mix of period pieces--and the list goes on! Obviously when you first move in you’re just desperate for the house to be comfortable and functional, so you inevitably have to fill some parts with pieces that are placeholders, and that’s fine.Whether she’s advising on a new collection for Neptune, or working on an interior design project for a client, Emma’s philosophy is clear: ‘every room has to sing and have a purpose and reason. Our aim was to create a series charting the journey of a house over a period of years, to reassure people decorating their own homes that it doesn’t happen overnight.

Because we were always working with a constrained budget this project really is never ending, but I think my taste would be much less interesting if I could always have exactly what I wanted when I wanted it. Whether the project is an urban town house, a seaside cottage, an ancestral residence, or a lakeside retreat, the approach of Sims Hilditch is always the same--a collaboration with clients to make stylish, comfortable homes that offer the perfect settings for everyday life. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.
