Its a safe scent for everyone, it is well blended and can be used by everyone. Versatility - that's what comes into my mind when I think of it. The scent is very sweet on me, mostly apple, cinnamon and vanilla. It's a good scent but extremely strong on my skin. Kinda has a woodsy undertone too. I dont really enjoy the cinnamon anymore and because of that rarely reach for this. Old formulation is not loud and lasts about 6+ hours, persistent mildly projecting. The new one is a tad stronger projecting and the apple is even juicier and more emphasized, but the projection is brief with the whole scent duration of only 3 hours and then you need to respray. Best effect would be to combine the old and the new formulation. The animal beginning, with a melange of herbs to caraway and juniper, lightly peppery tarragon and the turn to lovage and cheeky sage, combines with the scent of climbing yelp fever and catches the slightly bitter scent of grated vetch and crumbled jasmine. First of all: I can agree with the general tenor that the fragrance is an absolute grower and needs some time to get used to. You can see the 80s in him - in a positive respect. It is always exciting to see what associations people share with certain scents. But it's understandable, because after all it can bring great joy as part of our common scent hobby. How beautiful is it alone when a scent reminds us of a distant place, a certain time or even a very concrete event? I've experienced this with many perfumes, but "Number One" by Hugo Boss is one of the strongest candidates for such a connection. The other great thing is, unlike YSL Y, Savage etc, hardly anyone is probably wearing this so it should be unique relatively speaking. Definitely shouldn't be familiar to anyone under 30 I wouldn't have thought. Right at the beginning a slightly biting, pungent, spicy note shoots into your nose. But it is surrounded by an aromatic freshness, which should be due to the grapefruit and the various citrus notes. In the further course of the wine a balsamic and warm-sweet accord is added, which I refer to the honey. Amber, tobacco and patchouli are also added, which underline the woody and slightly spicy nuance here. It had something very elegant, warm-spicy about it, which immediately drew me in. Also a little patchouli came into play, but not the musty, but a finer timbe, perhaps also in conjunction with the spices listed here, it was almost magical, if you can call it that.

While the scent of Hugo Boss is lovely and I can't get enough of it, I do wish that the performance of the fragrance was a little better. The longevity is alright usually lasting for about 6 hours on skin, but the projection could be stronger, especially for those who like their fragrances to make a statement. Despite this minor issue, the scent is still worth wearing, especially for formal occasions and school if you are younger like myself. To me personally, this is the type of fragrance that is much better without being a beast mode or projection monster. It's best to be left alone as it is. If you would categorize this fragrance under the male psychosexual hierarchy, this is the "Sigma Male" among the fragrances. The introverted version of the more dominant Alpha Male. From my score above you can also see how good he is in durability and sillage. On my skin it lasts for 8-9h and because of its room filling quality other people in the area notice it very well.
