I have to say that this album is pretty amazing I mean some of the songs are really emotional they can make you cry and some songs are the very opposite thing they make you wanna jump and never stop!

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. In honour of the Grammy win, it only seems right to make this review on their most recent release, The Strange Case Of…, released in April of 2012, which showed the band expand on their already tremendous sound. It’s almost incredible seeing the look on peoples faces as soon as Lzzy starts shouting out the inevitably addicting chant that is impossible not to fall in love with. I was eagerly anticipating this album after thoroughly enjoying their debut, lead single "Love Bites (So Do I) is the heaviest and most uptempo track they've made, close to being a heavy metal track. The Strange Case Of…’ opens with “Love Bites (So Do I)”, which, in my opinion, is up there with the best hard rock songs; it’s loud, energetic and full of attitude. One, two… one, two… one, two, three…” Arejay behind his drum paraphernalia sets the tone for “Love Bites (So Do I).

They released their first self-titled album in 2009 and their second and most important album in 2012 named "The Strange Case Of . At that time, I decided, ‘I’m going to scream my head off and make really gritty songs,’” Hale says. Beautiful With You is a song very much like a song such as Bet U Wish U Had Me Back off of the first album. The song is very much a love song, based on its lyrics of the age-old story of a girl who is only truly happy when she’s by her man, just told in a very original and modern style. It is impossible not to instantly get in to the song, thanks to Arejay Hale’s pounding drum beat and the tough-as-nails guitar riff that follows. The first is an energetic song which would also be a good closing song, but then you have a great duet, then finish off with a mid-tempo track which is a brilliant closer. The ballads are perfectly nice as rock ballads, though some of them (eg here's to us) sound like melodies I have heard before.

Regardless of where it was heard, it’s great that this song got some exposure and hopefully it’ll help to get them more. Josh Smith is an excellent bass player, Joe Hottinger is a guitarist who's solos go somewhere - not just 1000 meaningless notes per second, he does something with them. I Miss The Misery” and “Freak Like Me” are quite anthemic and surely will be a guaranteed position on their live setlist.

We were on ‘ten,’ and we blew through the songs in a safe way – or as safe as something that goes, ‘I get off on you getting off on me’ can be. The electric vibration of the theme combined with an alluring tone defines, to some extent, the way Halestorm approaches musical art. So these days, it may seem a little out of character to get into Halestorm, and this album has proven itself to be a great intro.

It was of course the lead single from the album and deservedly so as it showcases Lzzy Hale’s vocal talent that I feel is second to none in the female rock voice department at the moment, I mean this girl can sing! It clocks in at 4:45, which makes it the longest song on the album, but it’s very easy to get lost while listening to it, making it seem like 4:45 just isn’t enough. Here’s To Us” closes the standard edition of the album which is in the vein of a retrospective/celebratory track; I can’t quite think what this reminds me of, but it could be more of a parody.Halestorm’s ‘The Strange Case of Halestorm’ album is repressed on a single clear LP and is a one-time pressing.
