About this deal

Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site. This is not just a quick re-eq with a bit extra top end thrown in to compensate for hearing loss with age and a general lowering of the standard of stereo gear these days but a real reworking of the digital master tapes. The two-CD edition shares most tracks with the original two-CD compilation Led Zeppelin Remasters, but with " When the Levee Breaks" and " Over the Hills and Far Away" instead of " Celebration Day" and " The Battle of Evermore.

Its slightly too large to fit inside the box sadly so you will have to be careful with this tedious extra. Of course some of those old recordings are a little rough around the edges and there's no magic cure for all those "faults" such as distortion (whether it's there by design or by accident).

Spanning their epic career, the unprecedented collection pulls immortal songs from all eight of the band's classic studio albums, one of the 20th century's most enduring bodies of musical work. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Surprisingly bubble wrap is used which looks a little cheap, a custom dampening material would have felt more exclusive if it had matched the slick aesthetic. We were so excited to hear it on her new record player Xmas morning, but when we played Feel Good Inc, the song skipped. While it doesn't sound as good as the lp version, or the classic records albums, it is some of the best digital rock I have heard.

In addition to a two-disc set, the album is also available in both "deluxe" and "collector's" editions with a DVD featuring varied live content from the previously released Led Zeppelin DVD (2003). I had the chance to listen to the new improved version (Mother ship) and it seem to me that the sound is more analog like smoother presentation , more silent, extended detail whitout any harshness except for the sound Whole Lotta Love that was a bit dull sounding. Mothership ranges across Zeppelin’s eight studio albums, gathering cranked-up folk-rock (“Stairway to Heaven”), post-psychedelic drone (“Kashmir”), punky manifestos (“Communication Breakdown”), skewed reggae-pop (“D’yer Mak’er”) and a 50's-ish request to “take you to the movies” (“Houses of the Holy”). Happy to take the inner sleeve for it too, but I only need the record as somehow I’ve acquired a copy of the box set with this record missing!I might have preferred Misty Mountain Hop (a tour de force for Bonham) instead of When The Levee Breaks, and I would have liked The Battle Of Evermore to have found favour in Page`s selection, Sandy Denny`s vocals lending a refreshing, pleasing poignancy after so much male chest-beating. While this box is not bad I would only recommend it if you are not a huge fan of Led Zeppelin and you want the best songs on a newer release.
