Description

It's the day I've been dreaming about my whole life. As I glide down the flower-strewn aisle overlooking the Greek orange groves, in my pearl-encrusted ivory gown, I finally see my fiancé Nik. We look like the perfect couple, but not all fairy tales have happy endings... I could not and still cannot believe some of the twists at the end. I think it's about the 80% mark where you just do not want to put this down.

I thought I had guessed the crux of the story but it turns out I was miles away in certain things and I LOVED that, a real surprise ending is always a great bonus to a fantatsic read….and that’s what this is, a real psychological/drama/family/relationship thriller of a book Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and author Sue Watson for this advanced copy. Available May 17, 2023. Working as a television producer, Stella Weston feels that she has been put out to pasture on a religious gardening programme. Dealing with an extremely nervous vicar along with his somewhat nymphomaniac wife, Stella feels that she is at a loose end with it all. Balancing both her home life and her professional one over the years, she feels that time is now right to quit her job and move on to new territory. This appears to be harder than she first expected though, as she attempts to make amends with the world around her, whilst also looking to the future. Can she really make the leap? Will she find her new life at home sufficiently rewarding? What will become of fat girls and fairy cakes? Now a USA Today bestselling author, Sue has written eighteen novels, many have been translated into several languages. Sue is now exploring the darker side of life with her thrillers OUR LITTLE LIES, THE WOMAN NEXT DOOR, THE EMPTY NEST, THE SISTER-IN-LAW, FIRST DATE and her latest, THE FOREVER HOME.As the chilly nights roll in, this book will give you a slice of summer as Alice tells her tale of Corfu. Of course, he doesn’t know the true reason I moved to this beautiful island, or what happened to my ex-husband. And by the time he finds out who I really am, it will be far too late. There’s only room for one happily-ever-after on this wedding day, and I’m determined to make it mine…

Originally from Manchester, she now lives with her family in leafy Worcestershire where much of her day is spent writing – and procrastinating. Her hobby is eating cake while watching diet and exercise programmes from the sofa, a skill she’s perfected after many years of practice. It's the day I've been dreaming about my whole life. As I glide down the flower-strewn aisle overlooking the Greek orange groves, in my pearl-encrusted ivory gown, I finally see my fiancé Nik. We look like the perfect couple, but not all fairy tales have happy endings. I try to forget the urgent calls from my sister this morning, and how she doesn't know I'm about to marry a man I've only a few months. His family seem a little off and he shuts down when I ask him about his past - but we've all go skeletons in the closet, right? This time published through the ‘Bookouture’ publishing label, this would also be the first in ‘The Ice-Cream Cafe’ series. Later followed up with the novel ‘Curves, Kisses and Chocolate Ice-Cream’ in 2017, this would originally come out in 2017 itself on the 11th of May. Setting up the franchise, it would be a fun and breezy series of books that would entertain its many readers all the way throughout.

Advance Praise

It's just so hard, to put any of her books down and you think, you miss something (and you mostlikely will !). Can I give this 10 stars? That's what it deserves!… This is why I read! For books like this!… LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this one!’ Goodreads reviewer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book isn't one of my favourites by her though I found Alice really naive and gullible she was too trusting of everyone around her and was taken in very easily by everyone. That said the storyline was very interesting. I'll defo be recommending this one and already looking forward to seeing what the author comes up with next.
