Description

O lectură densă în informații, dar care poate fi parcursă cu ușurință, educativă și distractivă deopotrivă. This classic beloved of medical students for over 100 years, is the fundamental work underlying this book.

The Human Body marks Longhurst’s final production as artistic director of the theatre, with Tim Sheader taking over as artistic director and joint chief executive in March. But this is Gray’s with a difference: it still has all the fine engravings of the original, but accompanied by fresher, more accessible text that explains in lay terms exactly how the hip bone is connected to the thigh bone, and all that other cool stuff in our bodies! He created the experimental method in medical investigation, developed by his anatomical investigation of animal bodies. The performer's body was manipulated by a series of computer interfaced muscle stimulators which send electrical impulses of between 0 and 60 volts to cause the involuntary contraction of the muscle in a series of choreographed movements.

We content advice for each production, which details any content that we think you should be aware of. While illustrations from the Late Middle Ages primarily consisted of handmade drawings, the printing press provided a unique opportunity to diversify the illustration and representation of anatomy through woodcuts, plate and wood engravings, and etchings. The creative team also includes designer Fly Davis, lighting designer Joshua Pharo, sound designers and composers Ben and Max Ringham, video designers Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom, fight director Kate Waters, assistant set and costume designer Rimu Kwok, assistant lighting designer Cheng Keng and assistant sound designer José Guillermo Puello.

While the study of anatomy is grounded strongly in the principles of systematic scientific analysis and experimentation, the meaningful power and art behind an anatomical illustration cannot be readily dismissed. The Total Theatre Magazine Print Archive covers almost 25 years of contemporary theatre and performance, spanning the period from 1989-2012. As Stelarc observes, the body's survival parameters are very slim and yet, we have created technology that can orbit the earth and facilitate the Information Superhighway. Or maybe it has something more to do with the witty writing, untold gobs of nonfiction information, eye-catching art, and general sense of intelligence and care.Stelarc's recent performance at the ICA, Split Bodies: Voltage In / Voltage Out, was a literal exploration of the interaction/intervention between the body and technology.
