Description

If you are between posts, you can keep on moving until you reach the following post. But, you cannot keep on moving to the next post when the bowler has the ball in his square. Rounders balls should clean and have no raised seams. The outer stitching should be uniform – not frayed or torn. Ball stitching should be flush to the leather material covering the surface of the round ball. Even though it can be a simple garden game, it makes sense to use kit which is suitable for the purpose. Traditional sports kits are appropriate and acceptable for both teams to wear.

They often become heavier when they are wet. So schools will usually use a softer version. Competitive Rounders rules and regulations do not allow the use of heavy wet balls. Rounders England is totally committed to safeguarding children and young players who participate in the game. The traditional rounders ball is hard and covered with leather, but softer ones are available and will be safer for those just starting to play.a b c "Save rounders! It's the only sport for people who hate sport". The Telegraph. 8 April 2018. Archived from the original on 12 January 2022. Rounders umpire uniform consists of a few basic items. A Rounders official would usually wear bright white shoes (e.g. court footwear) and a white polo shirt. No game of rounders would be complete without a base. Here at Eveque, we sell rubber bases which are hard wearing and secure.

The basic regulations for Rounders have evolved since the simple ‘bat-and-ball’ fun days played several centuries ago. Rounders bases are often made from wood, plastic, or metal. Using Rounders bases also helps to keep the poles in a vertical position. Ideally, a soft plastic sheath should be covering wooden posts to reduce player injuries. The bowler bowls the ball to the batter, who hits the ball forward on the rounders pitch. The batter then runs to as many posts as possible before the fielders return the ball to touch the post the batter is heading for. When children reach key stage 2, throughout the ages of seven to eleven, the national curriculum expects that children will learn to play competitive games, modified where appropriate.

The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland drew up the first set of nationally formalised rules in 1884. Further associations became established in England and in Scotland a few years later, in 1889. You score a half Rounder (½) if you get to the 4th post without hitting the ball (e.g. if you are not batting). Rounders England has recommended the adaptions below. If you’re not playing a competitive game it’s really important to deliver a fun and flexible session, therefore, how closely you adhere to the rule adaptions is dependant on your group. For example, you may decide to make the pitch smaller, and play with a soft ball. A bowler's umpire also defines no-balls and calls out the start of play. As well as this, they have to make sure the bowler does not step out of their 'bowler's box' when bowling.

Batting and Fielding Regulations
