You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Dry cleaning a leather jacket is not the ideal way to clean it and the process should only be resorted to if the jacket is heavily soiled. It is possible to replenish the oils, but once washed in a washing machine your jacket will never be the same again. Do not attempt to soften your leather jacket by putting it in the washing machine, you will irreparably damage the leather and almost certainly shrink the jacket.

If your lawn has suffered severely from Leatherjacket damage, and the number of Leatherjacket larvae within the soil is high, multiple applications of nematodes will be required to gain overall control. For optimum control over Leatherjackets, we advise using two applications of nematodes each year, once in the spring and once in the summer. If leather becomes dry and dirty it will crack and once it has cracked, although a specialist will do their best to repair the leather, the damage is irreparable. Don't use household products like vinegar or baking soda, as those will rob the leather of its oils and eventually damage it. For further information regarding Nemasys Leatherjacket Killer, please contact our technical sales team on 01902 440280.Most species of crane fly do not damage plants, many feed on decaying organic matter and help in nutrient recycling and are a part of a healthy garden. Leatherjackets tend to hatch during the autumn, so visible damage from leatherjackets in your lawn may appear in November or December, depending on the scale of the problem. They say it works well, is the most effective over the counter product they have ever used, and is useful.

Keep it away from extreme heat or moisture, and it can be a good idea to hang it on a padded hanger. The grubs feed primarily on the roots of the grass, so often there is no visible early sign of damage until the lawn starts to wither, thin out and die back.If your leather jacket is excessively dry, it might need two coats of Leather Honey Leather Conditioner. Leather is a natural organic material and its suppleness derives from the natural oils contained within it. Dragonfli Leatherjacket Killer contain Steinernema species nematodes that enter the Leatherjacket larvae via a natural opening, like the mouth, and feed on the pest from inside it. We recommend doing it at least twice a year, but if it sits in your closet for too long, then once every two years is enough.

The natural variations and characteristics of each hide ensure that every leather item is unique, and will only get better with age. Before going ahead with this, you want to ensure they are all out of the lawn, so we would recommend rotovating to expose any left to birds and predators before works go ahead.Use a damp cloth soaked in a strong solution of vinegar to remove the mould and then allow the jacket to dry naturally.

When the adult flies emerge, the pupal case is often partly pulled out of the ground and left sticking up above the lawn surface. The larvae can continue to grow and cause problems all the way through winter and into early spring if left unchecked. The damage that Leatherjackets do to a lawn is most obvious in late winter or early spring, so why am I writing about them in August? In the morning, peel back the polyethene and if there are any leatherjackets lurking, you’ll see them stuck to the poly or sitting on the surface of the lawn.Control leatherjackets naturally by treating with Leatherjacket Nematodes containing millions of natural nematodes – mix with water and apply the nematodes (Steinernema Feltiae) to the infected lawn with a watering can or an EasyNem Applicator. This not only makes it unpleasant to wear but can also ruin your overall style and personality — not to mention skin rashes! Thanks for the comment and we do recommend treating in Sept / Oct as you suggest, BUT if your lawn is under attack at other times of the year i. They start feeding again the following spring and gorge on grass roots before pupating to emerge as adults in August.
