I found the book quite nostalgic in that I remember and knew quite a lot of the original protaganists. The Popplewell Committee was set up to investigate both the fire at Bradford City's Valley Parade (which was not hooliganism-related) and the riot at the Birmingham City versus Leeds United match, but the higher number of fatalities in the former case meant that it received much more attention. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

But as the book progresses you still elements of respect and at times remorse for actions especially when they affected fans not associated with the firms.A typical mechanical account from a journalist who cannot engrain themselves into the mindset of these people.

This incident occurred at the Parc des Princes stadium in France, Striker Peter Lorimer had a goal disallowed in a game which ultimately ended in a 2-0 defeat to the West German side, this came after two penalties were rejected by French referee Michel Kitabdjian.

Around 10pm, about thirty of us found ourselves in the area known as the Lanes when someone said Brighton were on the phone. This then caused scores of Leeds fans to begin ripping up the seats within the stadium and throw them onto the pitch and at fans within the ground, this then caused the fans to clash with the French Police as they then continued to invade the pitch. Victory in the game would give them the Second Division title and promotion back to the top flight after eight years away. Its difficult as a football fan of leeds united to understand the culture of football hooliganism and why it spiked in the 80s when i was only a fan since 1990.

Brighton away a couple of months later was, however, a day that some Leeds lads can’t be too proud of. Those that follow football will know that Leeds United have traditionally had a large following and that they have a hatred of Manchester United but Gall is very thorough and details the hooligan rivalries with other Yorkshire teams such as Bradford, Barnsley, Huddersfield, Doncaster, Sheffield Wed and United as well as London rivalries, European activity and the far right element to Leeds hooligan gangs. Its not a nice read to start with as it just sounds like bragging rights and i just don't understand how 40 year olds can still feel pride in their actions. But it also is a lot 'drier' in that you do sometimes feel that you are just reading a timeline of where Leeds United hooligans went to cause trouble. As standard all our t shirts are direct to garment printed and only vegan friendly inks and eco friendly packaging used. Later on, as a group of forty Leeds were mooching about on the beach, they heard the sounds of someone having sex in a boat on the shore. Leeds had two penalties turned down before Peter Lorimer’s disallowed goal led to rioting by the Service Crew as seats were ripped up and thrown onto pitch.
