I then want to look through my own wardrobe/ belongings to see what things I have that are pre-owned and to imagine the story that these things carry. The best thing for beginners learning to draw is simply putting a pencil down on paper and making a mark. It's getting me into the mindset of needing to draw every day, and the 'streak' system helps push that as well, which I didn't realize how much I needed. Even if this doodles didn’t translate into something a bit more major, it was still useful for me to feel like I’d been productive.
