They're Imperial Thousand Sons, but with absolutely zero hubris: they know what they're doing and they haven't got a single speck of doubt about the horrible sins they commit. Given that his name is in the title, you would expect him to be more prominent, and while he is central to the story, he is not the focus. I do think that it does add to the plot however, for there is not much that can really be done with Angron post-heresy story wise. They’re more like an overwhelming destructive force, so rather than presenting scenes from his point of view, to ruminate on his wants and ambitions, it’s more about characters experiencing him, and how his presence affects their own lives.

Now, that may not be a type of character I usually find interesting, but there are interesting things you can do with such characters. He's just rage made manifest, and the narrative makes it abundantly clear that there is no possible redemption for him. David: With Angron, and characters like him, you don’t really look at them from the inside – from their perspective. It's even got the same master/slave dynamic with a CSM and their female servant, if you're into that kind of thing. That being said, this could be more on the general theme and source material for the World Eaters, rather than a reflection on the writing. A deeper character study of Angron is something I think I would have enjoyed more (and is possibly what his Horus Heresy-era novel is more in line with) but given what little I know about the man, perhaps it is wise to keep him off the page for as long as Guymer does.

This weekend is set to be one of the bloodiest on record, when the World Eaters arrive in Warhammer 40,000 as their own faction complete with a new codex, new models, and the big guy himself, Angron. However this is a book about different Berzerkers relationship to Angron and the Greyknight who chase him. It explores the twisted brotherhood of the World Eaters, it shows how horridly enslaved they are and how desperately they hate Angron - just as much as they're still mad for his attention.Chris Forrester’s Wrath of the Lost is an excellent example of how to make rage more than just two-dimensional. My interest dipped a few times, but that might have been my mood more than any fault of what Guymer wrote. While it had its occasional neat imagery, the novel did not go all the way with the violence like it could have. We have Kossolax the Foresworn, a powerful warlord and the current master of the Conqueror – Angron’s ancient flagship. David: There are three core Chaos Space Marine characters in Angron: The Red Angel , who each represent different points along the spectrum.
