It does have that iris/powder thing going which softens the whole thing a bit and makes it pleasant. The scent itself is quite addictive and is a modern update to the Armani Code line, very masculine and classy. I definitely get the bergamot at the top which is a little sharp but the rest of the stuff underneath balances it out really nicely. The iris that is in here is not the main note of this fragrance, it is simply rounding / smoothing this fragrance out to ensure that the tonka and bergamot in the opening do not come off as too strong or pungent I believe. And why brand it ”Parfum” when it’s not a particularly strong fragrance, nor the epitome of the line?

I keep smelling it and it’s not disappointing at all, quite nice and could see it used for many occasions. Opens with a boring, but good citrusy notes, but few minutes later, arrives the lovely star anise, combined with the smooth leather. If there was a better performance version of this (Code EDP and parfum have major differences with this one) it would be so amazing, I'd use it everyday.
