Anyone who loves beautiful, historical fiction that teaches you things you didn’t know, takes you places you have never been and makes you feel something will really enjoy this novel.

It felt nostalgic and periodic, which was more than fitting for a story that takes place in the 1950s. I liked the story all the more because the main character was dealing with grief a year after her loss, trying to adjust to her new normal — and collected sea glass — and good new friends who helped her heal — along the way.

Sea glass ― shards of old glass that have been shaped and polished by the waves ― can be found in a wide array of colors and can be simply collected or made into gorgeous jewelry.
