Further Engineering Mathematics : Programmes and Problems, Palgrave Macmillan, 3 October 1986, ISBN 0-333-34875-3. Laplace Transforms: Programmes and Problems, Stanley Thornes Ltd, 1973, ISBN 0-85950-002-0 and 1978, ISBN 978-0-85950-002-9. The only drawback is that it is not tailored to any specific course so it isn't well rounded but a large scope of material is included. This introductory mathematics course for students on science and engineering degrees and pre-degree courses is suitable for both classroom use and self study. Its unique approach takes you through all the mathematics you need in a step-by-step fashion with a wealth of examples and exercises.

The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged. com/stroud: Features applications and questions for each chapter where the maths from the book is used in engineering contexts.Aimed at undergraduates on Foundation and First Year degree programmes in all Engineering disciplines and Science. The book is divided into two sections with the Foundation section starting at Level 0 of the IEng syllabus and the main section extending over all elements of a first year undergraduate course. PowerPoint lecturer slides featuring the headings and subheadings from the book, plus Learning Objectives and key definitions and all figures and graphs. The rigorousness of a proof often fails to be fruitful and therefore it is usually ignored in practical applications. A networkable version is also available with a channelling of student progress through to the tutor. After I became a software engineer I started learning more about computer science and then machine learning and realised I needed more mathematical understanding to learn more in those areas. Could not recommend this textbook high enough for students moving from natural sciences to computational or engineering subjects; this is the solid foundation that your further knowledge can be built on. Distinctive Features Offers a unique programmed approach that takes users through the mathematics in a step-by-step fashion with a wealth of worked examples and exercises. We accept personal cheques in British Pounds as well as direct bank payments without any commission or additional charges. The CD-ROM included with the book provides stepped hints, worked solutions and immediate feedback on exercises and problems. She also notes the limitations on scope, but in regard to a physics degree, and at the same time shares my own high regard for it.Engineering Mathematics looks like a real solid resource, although I've heard its more of a method book and doesn't provide a very intuitive understanding (though I'm not sure that would be too necessary). So I started from a basic level (I did brush up on some basics on Khan Academy and elsewhere) but as I did more and more of this book my confidence and ability in maths increased significantly.
