It has Bluetooth connectivity for wirelessly streaming music, as well as HDMI ARC and optical ports (for linking it to your television) and a USB socket. Am currently listening to Debussy's Nocturnes, and it feels like sitting in front of the orchestra, rather than a speaker. It work's a treat, I have changed the settings in my TV to tell it that it has the sound bar, so use the active sound from there. It has seven EQ presets, its surround performance is slightly better, and it even supports Atmos content by downmixing it, which is unique in a 2.

The sound is marginally improved - with the (small) sub-woofer having some advantage (in addition, it does fit well beneath the tv). At first we couldn't get the soundbar to respond to the Sky Remote and it wasn't displaying the volume range on the screen.Furthermore, unless your older devices have a Bluetooth connection, you can't use their Audio Out jack to connect to the bar due to the lack of an Analog Audio In. It uses the left and right speakers to create a sound in the center, which sounds more diffused and less clear compared to a discrete center, but the performance is still good overall. I connected the two devices using an HDMI cable (as I was sure the Bluetooth/wifi connection would be guaranteed to be unsafe and insecure).

configuration won't result in the most accurate and clear representation of surround objects in the soundstage. The Sony HT-S200F is slightly better than the Sony HT-S100F model, especially thanks to the built-in subwoofer channel, which helps a bit with the bass.

Good sound from just a sound bar on it's own (no separate sub woofer) and easy connection to my mobile to play music from. However, if you want to use your soundbar as a hub between devices, you may prefer the Sony because it has an HDMI Out port.On the upside, the soundstage is focused, which is good as objects seem to come from an accurate pin-point location rather than a general area. However, the Sony has less compression at max volume, so it's better-suited for use in loud parties. The Sony HT S200F can reproduce surround sound in the Dolby Digital format over its Optical Audio In. It isn't very tall and it's unlikely to block any part of the bottom of your screen unless the TV stand is very short, or the TV sits flush on the table.

On the other hand, the Yamaha ATS-1080 has a Full HDMI In port, which the Sony lacks, and it also supports DTS.Its soundstage is also noticeably small and is even narrower than the bar itself, which is short to begin with. For a start, I have a Sony SMART TV but when I place the sound bar in front of the set , it covers up the sensor receiving instructions from the TV remote! Main problem, though, is that CONNECTION between the TV and the sound bar is EXTREMELY erratic and cumbersome.
