Meanwhile, an aggressive teacher sets his sights on Sajou and after preventing an inappropriate interaction between the two, Kusakabe asks Sajou out. In this lovely, pure and poetic manga Asumiko Nakamura perfectly depicts young love and its everyday special moments.

There is one satisfying moment where he gets a small amount of comeuppance, but it unfortunately doesn't last. We watch from the beginning, when second-year student Hikaru Kusakabe notices during one practice for the school’s chorus festival that fellow student Rihito Sajou isn’t singing along. While not necessarily detailed, there is a certain artistry to the wispy, pencil-like strokes that make up the drawings of her characters. Instead of the stereotypical sensationalized yaoi that comes to most of our minds when thinking about the genre, Doukyuusei is normalized, and that’s what I like about it most of all.We aren't even sure who the main characters are at first and who is narrating the story, nor are we given an introduction to tell us what our primary protagonist's name is. On a spur of the moment decision, Hikaru offers to teach Rihito the song, and the two boys get to know each other better. Whether it is enjoyment or disappointment that I experience, I feel that I do not need to review what I have read or watched with others.

first 20 pages of the manga and some attempt at romance triangle is introduced as a cheap device for the characters to realize they like the otter character - double cheap because this is actually used for both of the main characters. Super sweet, super non original, although Nakamura-sensei have a very unique art style, making the story super interesting. Despite not being particularly jaw-dropping or amazing, it's definitely a stellar manga for a genre rife with cliches and general unpleasantness. Also the fact that the other characters have no problem with it really irks me (especially that one scene where some of the other teachers were ASKING him which student he has a crush on 💀💀), and when I found out he was THIRTY FIVE FUCKING YEARS OLD reaallyy made me not like him. While there's nothing like actually holding a book in your hands, there's also no denying that the cost of those books can add up quickly.Mangaka Asumiko Nakamura's other works will also be allowed expression as part of the Doukyuusei-Classmates world.
