Since the guitar is an entertainment industry, does it matter that it's actually a good guitar, or that it's really american made? There is a three-way pickup selector switch and a volume and control knob as found on most telecasters.

Having the most progressive major guitar manufacturer redesign the most conservative/primitive guitar seems ludicrous to me.

The Telecaster quickly became a popular model, and has remained in continuous production since its first incarnation. As long as people believe that Fender is the only company that can make a "real" guitar, the Highway 1 will sell like hot cakes. Without engaging the S-1 switch, the first three blade switch positions deliver standard Telecaster wiring, with a special in-series fourth position that creates a thicker tone with more output. Later in 1950, this single-pickup model was discontinued, and a two-pickup model was renamed the Broadcaster.

The Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified Teles are some of the best value for money instruments on the market. It was designed in the spirit of the solid-body Hawaiian guitars manufactured by Rickenbacker — small, simple units made of Bakelite and aluminum with the parts bolted together — but with wooden construction. Fender Mexican Teles are built in their Mexican factory and are the entry point into the Fender lineup.

This body style was later released as the Fender Telecaster Bass in 1968 after the Precision Bass had been changed in 1957 to make it more closely resemble the Fender Stratocaster guitar. There’s absolutely no reason to think they couldn’t do the same for a Tele, and even less reason to not want them to do it! From Squier to Fender loads of different Telecasters to choose from and they all come from a handful of different countries and are made in different factories too.For guitars with standard tremolos, we can set it to float and be used both up or down like a true tremolo or we can lock the trem block back so the tremolo will only go downwards. If you’re not 100% pleased with the sound of your Seymour Duncan pickups, you can exchange them for up to 21 days after purchase.

The solid body allows the guitar to deliver a clear and sustaining amplified version of the strings' sound; [1] this was an improvement over previous electric guitar designs, whose resonant hollow bodies made them prone to unwanted acoustic feedback when volume was increased. Models made prior to 2004 featured two Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele single-coils, Fender/Fishman Powerbridge piezo system and four-bolt neck fixing. The most common variants of the standard two-pickup solid body Telecaster are the semi-hollow Thinline, the Custom, which replaced the neck single coil-pickup with a humbucking pickup, and the twin-humbucker Deluxe. The top nut also plays a big part in the action of your guitar so we'll hit that sweet spot between too low and too high. First produced in 2010, this 22 fret guitar was then reintroduced in 2019 after some changes were made.I don't think there is big difference in the sound of the Highway 1 versus American models that I've heard. The Pre B-1™ maintains a lot of the basic character of the Tele® bridge position, but the sound is bigger.
