Fill My Cup" transitions over the course of its length from blues to skate metal, with two middle eight sections. Take a look at their streaming stats on Spotify, YouTube or any of those services; they're strong, but they're far from outstanding. In that regard, “Hangover” appears to live up to its title while “Bring It On” clearly encourages the observer to share in an otherwise subdued sojourn.

That’s evident on the otherwise obtuse “California,” the orchestral arrangement given the aforementioned “We Haven’t Turned Around Yet” and the brass embellishment given “Devil Will Ride. They had to invite us to the ceremony, and we were like, ‘Sorry we are playing the Fillmore in San Francisco that night. Liquid Skin isn’t Gomez’s best-loved album (that’s Bring It On) or their overall best ( How We Operate or Split the Difference depending entirely on my mood) but it is their best-selling. There will be an accompanying remastered double LP release on black 180gm + a D2C transparent edition. This may explain the collective band amnesia surrounding the origins of the song as singer/guitarist Ian Bell explains. Following this, the band toured across the UK and Australia, where they played the album in its entirety. Abbey Road’s Frank Arkwright has delved into the archives to remaster Liquid Skin from the original tapes and the standard physical reissue formats are 2CD deluxe with demos, alternates and live tracks and a 2LP vinyl (album only). Cheeky schoolkids goofing on Creedence was a great pitch to English listeners in 1998, particularly given how naturally good Gomez were at it. VG/EX means that the item's sleeve is in Very Good condition and the disc is in Excellent condition.

The “in-full” performances of the album come off the back of lavish reissue complete with 19 unreleased tracks, that dropped in July. The Kurt Cobain-esque vocals of frontman Ian Ball allow the track to maintain a strong foothold within the American influenced alternative rock genre. The occasional use of loops, samples, and drum machines on Bring It On wasn’t really the central element of that album’s success, but being that it was 1999 and much was expected of Gomez’s second album, Liquid Skin doubles down. It’s most immediately obvious from “Rhythm and Blues Alibi,” which begins as a lo-fi ballad with a plaintive Ian vocal and a clacking drum track, then blows up into a kaleidoscopic production when Ben takes over for the chorus. It was also just post-Britpop, which also gave the public a certain perception of what a British rock band would sound like at the time. Within the tracks climax it breaks into an acoustic showcase, giving the track something of a grandiose feel.
