On the front on the card is a picture of the item and instructions to draw it by finding it on the menu. He loved that he could virtually test out his coding programs to see what drawing it would make using the ‘Simulate’ tool. He started off using the pre-installed programs available in the Artie interface and then tried his hand at coding following the coding templates on the information sheets. Lift the flap on Artie’s head and insert the felt tip pen into the hole, pushing down until the tip touches the Marker-parker. He draws a picture following the code written by the user, using its own Artie UI programming language.

Start coding in minutes with the Remote Control function, included pre-programmed codes, easy-to-follow instruction guide, and built-in tutorials. To have an Artie Party where children can code and draw with the innovative robot a computer, laptop or tablet with wifi is required to use him. For younger children, the ‘remote control’ mode allows kids to direct Artie using their mouse or the arrow keys to directly control Artie.

Syd was beyond proud of herself for mastering Artie 3000 all by herself – I took this photo to show her dad what she’d done! Artie 3000 does not require an internet connection however when connected and coding with Artie you cannot access other sites on the device you are using. Then on top of that I had to wait almost a week and a half and 2 messages to seller to get it after the date it should’ve been here. It is good for STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and STEAM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) as not only is it visual but it encourages critical thinking, problem solving, creativity skills and imagination. Artie has different ways you can use him: pre-programmed shapes, games, art for colouring and freeform coding. As you become more practiced and confident you can also use Blockly (a Google language, an alternative to Scratch that is used in schools), JavaScript, Python and Snap!

All told, we love our Artie 3000 Drawing and Coding Robot, and I can see him getting lots of love over the Easter Holidays! He has been a great asset to our home learning and a welcome fun experience during these difficult times of lockdown. It is a fantastic home learning resource and has been a welcome addition to our home learning during lockdown. x 11″ paper onto a solid flat surface and turned on the power and place Artie 3000 in the center of the paper.Rather than spending ages explaining how he works… We made this video so you can see him in action for yourself! Children will learn left brain skills such as basic computer programming, geometry and maths, while engaging the right side of their brains to create colourful designs! Artie 3000 is inherently designed to be one of the safest and most secure coding robots on the market. Once you have seen how the code works from the pre-programmed ones, Artie comes with 3 activity cards for you to code – easy (draw a square), medium (draw a mandala) and hard (draw a Tic-Tac-Toe grid).
