About a year ago, I bought a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy special edition and I love it – especially when I take Rocco for a ride in the morning by the sea and get fresh croissants and an espresso.Ah, Spaghetti vongole… We see you cook it on the beach this week, in the first part of the This Morning segment. Gino said, “From learning to make pizza at the fingertips of my Nonna Flora, to stirring simmering pots of ragu in my mamma’s kitchen. You visit Sardinia’s ‘Blue Zone’ – an area renowned for having the largest number of people that live to 100 years old. The dessert section is a bit small and a bit too fancy for me but there are lots of nice recipes in different categories. Because it’s one of the only places where my family is all together [Gino and his wife, Jessica, share three children together, sons Luciano and Rocco and daughter Mia].

In this personal food odyssey, Gino will be travelling the length and breadth of Italy from Naples, Florence and Bologna to encounter local dishes from families and their matriarchs along the way. That’s the point of having family – so they can share the most embarrassing stories of you around the table! Known for his authentic recipes and cheeky personality, and with a string of restaurants across the country to his name, Gino has risen through the ranks to become Britain's best-loved Italian chef. The 6×30 series from Betty TV celebrates the women who have fed Italy and shaped the country’s cuisine through the ages. Cooking for Phillip [Schofield] and Holly [Willoughby] is one of my favourite things to do and I consider them friends.

In the clip below, Gino is in his hometown of Torre Del Greco and is reunited with some of the women who helped to raise him and inspired him to cook. Born into a large family in Napoli, Gino's love of cooking developed from a young age when he was taught to cook by his mother and, at the age of 11, started working at his grandfather's restaurant. I didn’t mind the crew being in my house as I want to show viewers the simplicity of my life in Sardinia, as it’s completely different from my crazy one in the UK! With recipes including Pasta all Genovese, Steak Fiorentine and Tortellini Gino will have his work cut out to keep up with the women running the kitchens which he visits.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I visit Procida [an island in the Bay of Naples] which I enjoyed as I grew up near the ocean, so I love anything to do with the sea. That’s why I try to have a good work-life balance and work for six months and then take six months off and go on holiday. It has 246 pages of recipes, family pictures of Gino and his family/ up-bring and each recipe comes with a big colorful picture. But then it’s time to get busy, and Gino takes on the role of sous chef as his aunts take control of the kitchen and rustle up his favourite dish, Pasta alla Genovese.
