About this deal

First spray is a blast of slightly bitter but lush coffee (LOVE IT); I was hoping the rest of the perfume would keep this scent but it disappears after a minute or on dry down. oz or 115 grams (about) but several reviews have said this is heavier/oilier than regular EDP liquid Montale? I had sampled intense cafe and it was a lovely scent that I was somewhat mesmerized by but had kept putting off pulling the trigger on it because, although beautiful and can definitely be pulled off as unisex, I found it leaning a little too feminine.

Some people say the coffee smells intense in this perfume, and I do believe it can behave differently on different skin. I wish it had a little window to see how much juice is left though, I’m already annoyed that I won’t know when I’m close to finishing the bottle and I’ve literally just opened it 😂 The atomiser isn’t great, it projects in pretty big drops, almost like a stream, and I much prefer atomisers that give those nice fine clouds.I blind bought this because of raving reviews and a great discount, but it’s not nearly as impressive as I imagined. Either my sample was taken from a bottle that has gone off, my skin eats coffee notes, or I have some form of selective anosmia toward whatever chemical they use to make coffee notes in fragrances. Intense Cafe is a coffee, amber, floral and vanilla fragrance that I find quite appealing, although it does reflect some other fragrances, namely Tom Ford Noir de Noir but more in a more lactonic way.

While Intense Cafe smells like an actual perfume that has a soft coffee note, this mess honestly smells like someone put on a rose fragrance 5-6 hours ago then spilled a huge cup of coffee with way too much sugar in it on themselves. I definitely got it in Ristretto, and while it may not last forever - it's not a base note, mind you, and I suspect coffee just can't be one - it is totally worth getting Ristretto over Intense Cafe if you're looking for that black coffee vibe. Second time around I got some coffee - but it's not black coffee or freshly ground coffee beans, and it's not strong or overly obvious. I love how it starts with a strong dark coffee note (it packs a punch) then smooths out to the most yummy jammy rose. That there is no way to not find The One amongst Montale/Mancera fragrances that you would get in love and this is not mine.I love rose and the idea of a rose latte scent really tickles me but I'm mostly getting that classic, almost mature red rose and a faint bittersweetness that I think is supposed to be the coffee, but if you didn't tell me any of the notes I'd never guess coffee.

I can barely smell it on myself, unless I bring the spray point to my nose and this is a massive disappointment. Offer limited to the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom, Vatican City State. Funnily enough, the only "coffee" fragrance I've ever actually detected coffee in has been Replica's Coffee Break and that one is notorious for being very light on the coffee and heavy on the milky lavender.

I got it because it was recommended as a coffee scent but I would consider it a rose scent as the primary scent profile. For example, after I shower and there is the slightest hint of the fragrance left - that's when those notes appear to my nose. The gentle sweetness of vanilla envelopes this aromatic combination, while amber and musk lend warmth to the base and create a long-lasting and seductive fragrance.
