Marie From The Edge Of The Stars from OregonINFP's don't take this song as literally as the people here commenting (I believe).Fear-based beliefs are common in many faith traditions—fears like eternal damnation or harsh judgment after death create barriers between believers and their concept of divinity. But ‘Imagine The God Of Heaven’ confronts such fears head-on. Lennon and Ono co-produced the song with Phil Spector. Recording began at Lennon's home studio at Tittenhurst Park, England, in May 1971, with final overdubs taking place at the Record Plant, in New York City, during July. In October, Lennon released "Imagine" as a single in the United States, where it peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was first issued as a single in Britain in 1975, to promote the compilation Shaved Fish, and reached number six on the UK Singles Chart that year. It later topped the chart following Lennon's murder in 1980. John from AlabamaI think this is a top 5 all time best songs ever written. Personally, it was the music that made me want to listen and could care less what his political views are. I think it's great that he has an opinion and the right to express it, even if I don't agree. He's a musician and not a politician, I could care less what his opinion on how to run a government is. Enjoy the music. Breanna from Henderson, NvI agree with Adam, New Orleans. John wasn't an atheist or a comunist, he just was against war and wanted peace. He beilved that God was different for differnt people.

John Burke’s teachings stress the centrality of love in our relationship with God. His book, Imagine Heaven, underscores this notion.
