About this deal

this is one of the most confusing books i've ever read. because i loathed the first half and then by the time the ending rolled around i found myself getting MILDLY teary. which ya know, is rare for a heartless bitch like me. There’s something so interesting about being on the set of a reality TV show – we all know that there is drama going on behind the scenes of these shows, so I really enjoyed getting a look behind the curtain, even if it just for a fictional story. Alison also shines a light on the toxic side of reality television, which is a refreshing spin on stories that tend to glorify or gloss over the dark side of this industry. a b c d Ramirez, Carlos (June 29, 2016). Charlie hasn’t met many people like this—people who don’t make assumptions about you when they discover your brain doesn’t work like theirs; people who don’t judge you; people who simply stay with you and ask what they can do to help.”

Also, Please also note that there can be different opinions amongst Indians, India-Americans, Indian-Diaspora or Maharashtrian readers. The thoughts and opinions are mentioned here are personal. i also enjoyed the scenes of filming the actual show, i found it very interesting the concept behind these reality shows that all of us watch. (given, this is fictional but there’s definitely some truth to it)Charlie is the cinnamon roll we never knew we needed. This is what the blurb says about him . In front of the cameras, he’s a stiff, anxious mess with no idea how to date twenty women on national television. Behind the scenes, he’s cold, awkward, and emotionally closed-off. Ok so Charlie wasn't cold. Like at all.Idk when I started reading the book I thought he was going to be one of those asshole rich men who believe the world revolves around them but then it turns out that they were not assholes at all. I don't if anyone gets it but basically I thought he was going to act rude. But guess what? Charlie is the sweetest person you've ever read about. I love him so much. i swear in the beginning when they hadn’t gotten together yet i savored every single conversation they had and there was so much there, guys there was so much there. i’m trash for all the little details that are the whole development of the romance and this book did not disappoint. The ending for Daphne felt so contrived as to be unbelievable. She supposedly had no idea she was a lesbian and then WHAM 6 months after the show ends she's not just come out but is looking for her own princess? Coming to terms with who you are takes time. 6 months is NOT time. It's barely a blip to start figuring out the new you. a b Kihn, Austin (September 8, 2017). He’s got his work cut out for him this season, though. The new bachelor, Charlie, is a gorgeous former cologne model and tech mogul who (very) reluctantly agrees to go on the show in the hopes of resurrecting his tech career. The thing is, for someone who looks as suave and commanding as Charlie, he couldn’t be more awkward—in everything he does. I honestly was apprehensive going into this because I am a reader who likes first person but the author seamlessly used third person omniscient to show two points of view (dual pov but in third person). I loved how it was centered around the romance but showed personal growth and other struggle as well. The accurate and respectful representation of queer love and neurodivergent/mental illness wowed me. As someone who fits into both of those categories, it made me feel seen and represented in a way that isn't shameful or inaccurate. Kamiński, Karol (January 27, 2019). "Damien Moyal Discusses As Friends Rust Reunion". Idioteq. Archived from the original on August 12, 2020 . Retrieved November 27, 2021. The inclusion of the quotation marks around the phrase indicates that the paper's readers wouldn't have been expected to be familiar with it.

I love this book! though I enjoy the beautiful love story between Charlie and Dev so much, my favorite part of the book is the brilliant storytelling and the unexpected outcomes.

Ever since Red, White & Royal Blue came out, there's been a cascade of badly done MM Romcoms. While this one is better than its predecessors, it still fails. there was definitely a lot of angst, and it hit me really hard (maybe i shed a tear ok shut up) but it was fine because it balanced out with ~healthy supportive relationship stuff~ and i was rooting for this couple the whole time. i honestly believe they were good for each other and they seemed to make each other really really happy so we love that. Dev Deshpande has always believed in fairy tales. So it’s no wonder then that he’s spent his career crafting them on the long-running reality dating show Ever After . As the most successful producer in the franchise’s history, Dev always scripts the perfect love story for his contestants, even as his own love life crashes and burns. But then the show casts disgraced tech wunderkind Charlie Winshaw as its star. also reality shows as the plot of romcoms is becoming such a thing and i love it sm. i couldn’t stop reading this book, it ate and left zero crumbs & i ate that shit up this book appealed to me so much in every single way and i loved the way it dealt with mental health and personal growth. i feel like romcoms have been getting less toxic and more focused on healthy relationships and self-love and i am 100% here for it.A sweet and thought-provoking story, The Charm Offensive is a gay/demisexual contemporary romance that takes place, improbably, on the set of a Bachelor-like reality show. I got to say that the description of dev’s depression hit a little too close to home. so yes was a crazy ride being able to finish this book.
