litres dry dust bin capacity, which is a huge amount of space. Wet, the Charles holds 9 litres. An easy-to-operate switch goes between the two.

Max vs standard run time Higher-powered cleaning settings can drastically cut battery life to as little as seven minutes. The Henry vacuum cleaner range covers a number of price points. The more expensive models, like the George, do more things than the models that don’t cost as much. Adversely, the cheapest Henry Vacuum is likely to be the original version. You would think that you paid less for less dustbin capacity (like what you get with the James, where you sacrifice dustbin space for storage) but this isn’t the case. What is a Class Rating? Love a Henry but want to go for one of the best cordless vacuums? The Henry HVB160 cordless vacuum cleaner is well worth a look. Our reviewer Sarah gave it 4.5 stars and thinks it's great for smaller homes as its battery life only lasts for 30 minutes. It’s not nearly as heavy as you would think for all those extras. It isn’t expensive, it doesn’t make much noise. You would expect him to be cheaper than a regular Henry. Does extra storage space make up the extra in cost?

Henry have a vacuum cleaner for everyone! You need the Henry Micro. This nifty little number uses a MicroTex Filtration System to ensure that even the smallest particles are whipped out of the fibres of your flooring. I want a Henry vacuum that does everything… is there one? AiroBrush140 - Compact, lightweight and powerful, the AiroBrush140 boasts all the powerful cleaning technology of the AiroBrush — just in a smaller size! Perfect for spotless stairs, sofa, car seats and all those other awkward spots. If you have a big home, messy occupants, or want to save time, this is the Henry model to go for in our opinion. Its design features will keep you cleaning without pause, and it’ll cope admirably with all the dust, debris, and fur you need to remove from your home or car. In our review Lindsey gave it top marks for cleaning power and versatility, but bear in mind that it's heavy to lug up the stairs. If you love Henry (the vacuum) and you have pets, then the Henry Pet 200 would be an excellent shout for you since it has all the great features of a Henry with the added bonus of extra pet-friendly features. Our tester Jen found that it excelled as collecting hair left behind by her adorable guinea pigs. It's for sure one of the best vacuums for pet hair.Cordless vacuum cleaners are generally more expensive than corded alternatives, particularly if you're shopping for a model that lasts a long time between charges. A lovely bit of German engineering, the AEG is like a Mercedes in a world of Vauxhalls, although that is certainly reflected in the price. I loved the motorised Brush Roll Clean feature for intense carpet cleaning. Used in high power mode, it worked almost as well as the much more powerful Dyson, although you only get about 10 minutes out of it in this setting. (A second battery is available separately.) It makes the vacuum much harder to push around, but that’s a sign of its intensity. If you are desperately seeking an upright vacuum cleaner then have a look at our article regarding the best lightweight upright vacuum cleaners of the year, so far. Power Settings Swappable batteries Some cordless models have a spare battery included that you can swap over if you run out of juice. Cordless vacuum cleaners are much lighter than standard vacuums. On average, a cordless vacuum weighs 3kg compared with 6.4kg for a corded machine. Their light weight makes cordless vacuums a fantastic choice if you struggle with heaving a conventional corded cleaner around your home.

When shopping for a small home you have less mess – but less storage space. For this we suggest the Henry Micro, which will do a great job while fitting snugly into small spaces. What’s a Numatic Henry?

Henry Xtra

The Henry range of vacuum cleaners tend to vary in dustbin capacity. The traditional models have 9L, while the wet and dry models have a 9L wet capacity but a 15L dry dirt capacity. Is it Bagless? It has a useful hi/low feature which allows you to switch seamlessly between the more powerful 1,200w and a lower 600w mode. It’s a great way to manage your electricity use. For most jobs, 600w will be more than enough power to get the job done, but occasionally, for really stubborn tasks, you might want to switch up to the more powerful 1,200w. This allows you to do just that. In the light of recent European legislation, though, Numatic have released a less powerful 620w model, but they’ve put in a huge effort to tune this up so despite the power drop you still get excellent performance – capable of meeting any job. It comes with a great range of attachments: a crevice tool, a multi surface dusting tool, a dedicated pet tool and an accessory bag. My favourite bit was the hinge in the middle, which allows you to bend the vacuum under sofas, cupboards and other harder to reach places, and also folds completely in half for storage. One battery lasts 60 minutes meaning I could comfortably vacuum my entire flat in one go, though if you have a bigger house you might consider investing in the double battery version. You’ll also get useful lights on the handheld section of the machine, to tell you how long you’ve got left. If you’re worried about the battery life, unless you have a huge home which you want to clean in one go, you should be fine. Never did I run out of battery, albeit in a small three-bed flat. Do they have good dust capacity? It comes with that large 9L capacity dustbin, fantastic reach, and has multiple attachments included.

Quality replacement hose assemblies for Henry hoovers, restore full suction to your Henry with our range of spares. Meet Henry Cordless, he's just like the Henry we all know and love with the added convenience of cordless cleaning, take your favourite machine anywhere, without restraint.

Hetty

Most of these machines have only one or two controls. An off/on switch and the cord winder. They may have a high/low setting (like the traditional Henry) and they may have a wet/dry setting (like the George). Finally, the Xtra can switch between hard floors and carpets as a special feature. Storage Like previous models, the Gen5 Detect has three power modes: ‘Auto,’ which intelligently adapts to different floor types, ‘Eco,’ which saves power, and ‘Boost,’ for intensive cleaning. It also races ahead of competitors when it comes to battery life, with a maximum run time of 70 minutes. The battery is removable – spares are available to buy from Dyson should you wish to double your run time.
