The range is impressive. You can walk up to 15 meters away, which means you won’t need to take your headset off when you walk into a nearby room and miss out on what your party is saying. Walls can still be an issue, so moving much more than one room away caused it to break up a bit — but you have more freedom to move, which is nice.

Step two: Reinstall audio drivers and iCUE

For the price, the Corsair HS55 Wireless certainly hits that sweet spot between performance, features, and price. This model is finally winning.

If troubleshooting sound problems doesn’t work, try uninstalling and re-installing the Corsair audio device drivers and iCUE: Featuring 50mm Neodymium audio drivers with a frequency response of 20hz to 20khz, the average gaming user will seriously appreciate the sound on the Corsair HS55 Stereo gaming headset. As i said audio is subjective so you may not like the software integrated 7.1 audio. But to me it is fabulous. The sound quality is good overall, though not quite as rich and as full as we hoped. At default, there’s plenty of bass here, though perhaps not enough low bass extension to deliver that rumble you want from games and movies. There’s decent high end as well, but it’s a little rolled off so it doesn’t sound as crisp and detailed. The mid-range sounds a little recessed, particularly affecting the dialogue, which isn’t as crisp and clear. While you can still hear what the characters are saying, it sounds a little hollow. The microphone sounds great, anyways, and that's what really counts here. I'm really impressed with just how clear the HS55's microphone is: the subtle tones and nuance of my voice's luscious timbre (in my opinion) come through accurately in testing, which you can listen to below. There's a surprising level of clarity in this mic, even in the lower ranges, and it's a really great solution for a budget headset.Did you experience one or more of the following sound issues after installing the most recent iCUE software update? Thankfully, the headset has good stereo imaging, and important audio cues like footsteps cut through the mix very well. I was able to locate firefights in pre-match rounds of deathmatch by sound alone and even flank around enemies because I could hear them before I saw them. Even though I missed the extra clarity from the treble, I can’t fault the HS55 Wireless Core for putting me at a competitive disadvantage. For best performance, bend the flexible microphone boom to best fit near the left corner of your mouth. A 30-degree bend is a good place to start, but you can adjust this if your mic is too loud or too soft. VOLUME CONTROL It's primarily a gaming headset, though, and it performs better in this regard. There's enough definition between the highs, mids, and lows to make out different sounds in-game, and that's key if you, like me, play a game that relies heavily on sound cues to signal danger. I play a lot of Hunt: Showdown, and I didn't feel like I was missing important cues in-game with the HS55 on.
