Description

As you’d expect at this sort of price, there are full calibration controls if you’d like to go professional on the set up, but there is also an auto calibration feature for ease too. Even under the best conditions, colours are arguably only just so-so, and sharpness leaves a bit to be desired too – even when you remember it’s only a 720p image at play. You can still make the most of its HDR capabilities with movies, as the HD29H performs well here too. The brightness that the HD29H serves up really helps with delivering a pretty convincing HDR effect that is unusual to find at this price. With Epson’s 4K PRO-UHD projectors, you get a holistic approach to image performance over and above the ability to receive, process and project 4K content. Great images are the result of a combination of technologies coming together, including equal colour and white brightness, 3LCD technology, contrast control, HDR10 and colour processing. As always Richer Sounds flawless in all areas (replacement arrived next day) I wouldn’t even consider buying anywhere else…..I’m a R/S lifer. A Thankyou too the Preston staff :)

We watch Ant-Man on Blu-ray, and with plenty of colour and texture in the materials of the suit and almost every surface seen at ant-level, it makes for a good test disc. In response, the TW7000 offers a masterclass in budget projection. Considering the price point, this projector is capable of some brilliant detail. Tom Hardy looks typically rugged in close-up –his stubble is sharp and his blemishes lend a great feel to the character. Don’t be afraid to push on the Image Enhancement menus (Super-resolution and Detail Enhancement) and the Sharpness settings when watching in HDR to get the most out of this projector. Out of the box, the calibration is a little soft. Epson is the biggest manufacturer to employ this approach, with main competitors Optoma and BenQ both using DLP instead. The advantage of three LCD panels – one each for the three primary colours of red, green and blue – is that there’s no need for a colour wheel. The TW7000 does justice to all of these discs – and any other SDR content we throw at it – but with a slightly more limited contrast ability than its bigger 4K PRO-UHD siblings, it can sometimes need pointing towards the right set of parameters. The slightly lower lumen level compared with its pricier siblings means that this projector really will be at its best in a very dark room, and it’ll be in this environment that you’ll see what the N5 is really capable of. Prices valid in stores (all including VAT) until close of business on 28th November 2023. (Some of these web prices are cheaper than in-store, so please mention that you've seen these offers online.) The EH-TW9400’s 2.1x optical zoom lens means it can produce an image from 50in up to 300in, and with a bright 2,600 lumens to play with, it’ll even play ball in a lighter room. Lamp modesNow, the results. First of all, it has 3 lamp modes, Low, Standard and High. I'm guessing Low is what Epson considers "Eco" on its spec sheet (1900 lumens). On High, the fan noise is insane, full-on jet engine mode. Standard is reasonable, Low is barely audibile. However, on Low there is a very high-pitched audible noise that cycles, it's like a 2-tone cycle followed by 2 seconds of silence and very high-pitched, similar to when a CRT TV starts. Some people might not be able to hear it, but if you do, it is very unpleasant. Even with the projector a fair distance from you, it is audible. I use my Sennheiser headphones to watch stuff, and with them on, I don't hear it (even if nothing is playing). It's also not audible on Standard mode, that may be because of the fan noise, but I put my head right next to the lens and I can't hear it at all on Standard or High. There isn't a dramatic difference in apparent luminosity between Low and High (even tho it's 1000 lumen), but with the former you are consuming 70W less and noise is much less, so that's what I would keep it on, at least for more casual viewing or gaming.

Built around Epson’s 3LCD light engine, the 3200/EH-TW7000 is designed to be used occasionally in living rooms – most likely for sporting events, movie nights and gaming at varying times of day (and, therefore, daylight) – and outputs in a bright 3,000 lumens. However, it’s less capable on contrast than the 3800/EH-TW7100, with just a 40,000:1 quoted contrast ratio. Still, the 3200/EH-TW7000 ought to be able to create likeable images picture quality daylight hours. User reviews

Intuitive menus and handy motorised lens controls (unusual at this price) mean it’s pretty easy to setup too, which isn’t always the case with projectors, and a definite plus for the EH-TW9400. Getting big sound to match the big picture is easy with the EH-TW7000. Pair the Bluetooth output with a compatible soundbar, AV system or Bluetooth speaker and enjoy effective, wireless sound. Epson projectors have a significantly higher colour brightness than 1-chip DLP projectors thanks to 3LCD technology. As such, Epson’s projectors offer up to three times brighter colours, resulting in more vivid and colourful images.
