This medicine lasts for 28 days after opening the bottle. If there is any medicine remaining in the bottle after this time it should be disposed of and not kept for future use. Maalox plus is used to relieve the symptoms of heartburn, indigestion (upset stomach with stomach pain and burning, nausea and excess gas, sometimes called dyspepsia) and excess gas in the stomach and intestines (flatulence or wind). Antacids work by binding to and neutralising excess acid in the stomach and intestine. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any of the medicines listed below, as some medicines may be affected by Maalox Plus or they may affect how well Maalox Plus will work. In particular: Not know (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data) Hypophosphatemia, this may occur at high doses of the product or even at normal doses especially in patients with low phosphorus diets Take Maalox (aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide suspension) after meals and at bedtime or as you have been told by your doctor. Maalox Suspension contains methylparaben (E218) and propylparaben (E216). These may cause an allergic reaction. This allergy may happen some time after taking this medicine. Signs of an allergic reaction include: breathing problems with wheezing and tightness in your chest (called “bronchospasm”)Maalox plus suspension contains sorbitol and should not be taken by people with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance. Concomitant use of aluminium products with quinidines may increase the serum levels of quinidine and lead to quinidine overdosage.

When taking the recommended Maalox Suspension dosage make sure to always shake the bottle well before use, and to take it orally. This medicine may contain sugar.
