Should you fight them on the decision? How do you know your child is spiritually ready? Can your child's entire education be erased on a four-year, secular college campus experience? All the young men attend the soft-skills workshop and receive customised training specific to jobs. This would include company values, required aptitude tests, core competencies and any dress codes. Thereafter, the young men receive individual coaching after the soft skills programme. This is where they are supported with any of their individual needs. This coaching is both work-related and pastoral, and would last for as long as required, to give them the best opportunity of securing the life-changing opportunity they are seeking. Then, actor Kevin Sorbo shares a bit of his behind-the-scenes perspective as a practicing Christian and homeschool parent in one of the most secular places on Earth - Hollywood.

Join the Stigalls as they host former NCAA Women's Swimming champ Riley Gaines as she shares her story of initially fearing the woke mob in speaking out against competition with a biological male posing as a female peer. Later, hear how her voice grew to be the leading spokeswoman in the nation for protecting women's sports in schools. Our mission is to transform the futures of disadvantaged young people in the UK, by providing training to raise their aspirations and develop their skills, behaviours and attitudes to choose and succeed in a career. Dom commented: “A healthy economy is dependent upon empowered young talent achieving their aspirations. I’m humbled, to be a part of the forward thinking, game changing, award-giving charity that is Making The Leap. Working with the team to drive social mobility momentum and have a positive impact on young people’s lives is an exciting opportunity for my passion to meet purpose.” The Washington Post just completed a deep-dive survey of parents who homeschool and their motivations for doing so. The Stigalls pour through the Post's sometimes interesting and sometimes insulting conclusions from the survey.

Organisation aims / mission / values

Making The Leap has a number of excellent interventions for school children. These range from educational courses preparing children for work experience, to programmes targeted at boosting a child’s motivation and performance. Delivered by a team of expert staff and highly-trained & committed volunteers, our tailored sessions expose pupils to the soft skills, behaviours and attitudes needed to succeed in – and beyond – school. Its programmes provide a variety of meaningful and popular employee engagement opportunities. These support companies to meet their CSR aims and provide employees with opportunities to utilise their skills to have a real impact on the lives of young people. Every year, we provide high quality training to thousands of 11-25 year olds from low income families in schools and communities in London. We have been doing this for 24 years. We use what we learn in our delivery operations to raise awareness of the importance of social mobility among UK businesses and encourage them to take action to improve it. You've gone out of your way, sometimes at great personal sacrifice to make sure your child's K-12 education is Christ-focused. But then he or she decides their college of choice is the furthest thing away from a Christ-centered environment.

Laurence Meehan is the Corporate Relations Director for Diageo’s Great Britain business, where he has worked since 2017. Previously he held campaigning, public affairs and media roles at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, the Local Government Association, and the Royal College of Nursing. He has also worked in a number of roles across Westminster covering a range of issues including race relations, arms control, homelessness, and gun crime. You no doubt heard about the high school football coach fired for praying on the field. His historic victory before the Supreme Court last year wasn't widely noticed, but it was a huge win for religious liberty. Coach Joe Kennedy joins us to discuss his story and his new book "Average Joe." Making The Leap is pleased to announce that Dom Scott, Managing Director of Lifetime Connect and Laurence Meehan, Corporate Relations Director at Diageo have both been appointed as Making The Leap Trustees and join the charity this October. We're thrilled to welcome a podcasting veteran of the last seven years - Linda Kardamis to the Herzog Podcast Network. Linda's podcast Teach 4 the Heart will be offered alongside Making the Leap each week in our growing family of podcasts. Making The Leap, along with our partners, launched the first national awards event dedicated to social mobility in 2017. Now in their seventh year, the UK Social Mobility Awards are about making the advancement of social mobility a key part of how organisations are run in this country. At our annual awards ceremony in October, we recognised and celebrated the efforts of the people and organisations that are leading the way in this endeavour.

It also delivers bespoke recruitment drives to give companies access to audiences that are under-represented amongst their workforce. These projects not only provide young people with entry level career opportunities, but also support companies to widen the talent pool they have access to.

Those who live in states with true school choice won't want to miss this topic! Those who don't have access to school choice will want to hear why its such an important development for your family's success in education.

Our vision: every young person in our country will have the chance to succeed; and every company, organisation and institution will have a part to play in making it happen. Dr. Keri Ingraham joins the show to thoroughly explain what ESAs or "universal school choice" means by definition and what goes into the funding formula for those who live in states with "universal school choice." What does that mean for you as a parent to participate? What are Education Savings Accounts for your K-12 student and do you know how to access them?
