About this deal

Rosalind Knight played Eleanor Macpherson in "Birds of Prey" (2003) and Mother Jerome in "A Sacred Trust" (2011). VKK Birgitte Poulsen ( Ann Eleonora Jørgensen) appears in "The Killings of Copenhagen" and "Death of the Small Coppers". At the forge, Ken Touhy tells Libby he is going out. Libby is unhappy that he isn't interested in her sculpture. Ken is jealous of the man who posed for the statue, John Kinsella. At home, Barnaby says Iris Holman is a strange lady. Giles Braithwaite, he's just her boss, isn't he? So why did she come on as though he were two-timing her? Joyce says, "Ha! Iris Holman is in love with Giles Braithwaite. You'd have to be blind not to see it. Or a man."

Sebastian looks at Gerald and then walks out. Gerald says, "Ladies and gentlemen! Ladies and gentlemen, please raise your glasses to the champion of Midsomer Morchard. Now champion of the world! John Kinsella!" ( Cheering ) Tom finally gets to the bottom of the case by telling Joyce that he has purposely steered clear away from one suspect (his friend) because he just can't seem to understand why...because he doesn't want to believe it.In the field, workers are setting up the boxing ring. Inside a tent, villagers are putting on costumes. Frank comes in and pulls Grace aside. Frank says, "So you were talking to Braithwaite about a divorce." Grace says, "Are you surprised?" Frank says, "Surprised you'd insult anyone's intelligence with a story like that. I don't know why you went. But Malloy and Kinsella are bound to be mixed up in whatever it is."

Sarah Barnaby ( Fiona Dolman) (series 14–present)—John Barnaby's wife is the headmistress of a local secondary school. As she has a full-time career of her own (unlike Joyce), she does not figure as much in her husband's cases; and they don't have any children (until the end of the sixteenth series), although you may consider Sykes, their dog, as their child. They have a loving marriage and celebrated their fifteen-year anniversary in "Schooled for murder". Throughout the sixteenth series Sarah is pregnant and in the last episode of the series she gives birth to their first child, a daughter, called Betty. Elizabeth Spriggs and Richard Cant appeared in the pilot episode ("The Killings at Badger's Drift"), as mother and son Iris and Dennis Rainbird; they appeared again in "Dead Letters", this time as Iris' sister Ursula Gooding and her son Alistair. Maggie Steed played Rosemary Furman in "Judgement Day" (2000), Lynne Fox in "Left for Dead" (2008), and Sylvia Mountford in "Schooled in Murder" (2013). Frank Bishop drives up to Morchard Manor. Sebastian tells him he has a damn nerve coming there at all! Frank asks if Sebastian is going to set the dogs on him? Sebastian says. "Why give them all the pleasure?" Gerald tells Sebastian to get inside the house!Barnaby and Jones discuss the case. Barnaby feels that Gerald deserves a better son than Sebastian. Jones says Gerald's no saint- gambling habits. Barnaby says Gerald is a JP.- A pillar of society. Barnaby thinks that the challenge for the estate is all to do with Sebastian not being a biological heir. Jones says he seems convinced the child's not his. Barnaby says it's all about inheritance. Joyce Barnaby ( Jane Wymark) (series 1–13)—DCI Tom Barnaby's long-suffering wife. She is tolerant of her husband, despite his being a workaholic who spent their honeymoon solving the case of the " Pimlico Poisoner", which suggests that they met in London. Joyce is an easy-going and friendly woman who likes to be involved in community activities. She has long possessed a desire to move out of their Causton home and into one of the picturesque Midsomer villages—only to be put off by the grisly murders that occur there. She's known to her family as an experimental, but not always successful, cook. Thus, Tom is often seen taking advantage of every opportunity to dine out. She married Tom in 1973 and their only child, Cully, was conceived on their honeymoon. Her parents are Muriel and Douglas. Judy Parfitt appeared as Angela Wentworth in "Death's Shadow" (1999) and as Caroline Halsey in "Days of Misrule" (2008). Everyone welcomes Kinsella home with a party, thrown by Gerald Farquharson, a local magistrate. Among the guests are Giles Braithwaite, his secretary Iris, and Grace, who is the wife of Kinsella's manager Frank Bishop.

Kevin McNally appeared as Orville Tudway in "Blood Will Out" (1999) and as Gerald Farquaharson in "The Noble Art" (2010). She held the document that legalised the wager. She was asking for money. But what she really wanted was revenge.Writing provokes a lot of thought mostly, and has a healthy balance of the humorous and the darkly twisted. Love the chemistry between Barnaby and Jones, the incorporation of boxing is entertaining and there are some nice twists and turns along the way and intriguing subplots. Neil Dudgeon, Chief Inspector John Barnaby, appeared for the first time as Daniel Bolt [7] a character in the episode "Garden of Death" (2000). Gerald, dressed in costume, goes in the ring to announce the fight. He says, "My lords, ladies and gentlemen! I bring you a contest which pits the old world against the new. One, where a misguided son of Yankee-shire ( Booing ) will learn that the hand of the foreigner, when raised against the son of Britannia... ( Cheering ) ..must be aided not only by the strength of a lion, but by the heart too. ( Cheering ) I doubt very much whether our gentleman from the colonies will be roaring when he's had the shine taken off him by our own Tom Sayer! ( Cheering .. John Kinsella runs up to the ring.) And now I will ask you all to join me in showing an invader... ( Booing ) ..how he is welcomed to the shores of Great Britain. Mr John Heenan! ( Booing.. Ken Touhy comes to the ring. He tells Gerald "Last minute switch.") Detective Sergeant (later Inspector) Gavin Troy ( Daniel Casey) (main: series 1–7; guest: series 11)—DCI Barnaby's first assistant. Troy is bright and ambitious. Early in the series, Troy is also known for his careless driving, causing a number of near-accidents. He is less enlightened than his boss who, in the first episode, tells Troy that he is “as politically correct as a Nuremberg Rally.” For example, Troy is uncomfortable with gay people (he calls them “ass bandits”) and the elderly, whom he calls "wrinklies". Barnaby and Jones go to Morchard Manor. They tell Gerald about Iris Holman and her request to meet them at the statue of Tom Sayers.
