About this deal

When Aurra was reunited with her siblings in Deastok after a long time apart, she was relatively cordial with them, though belittling their fastidiousness towards the wilderness. Her name is a variant of either aura ("breeze" or "soft wind" in Ancient Greek) or aurora ("dawn" in Latin).

Lucius was the only one of the Lorelei siblings not to transform into his werewolf during the one-shot episode. These are the sorts of connotations that obviously move people; they stay in people's minds, and all the more so because there is an actual place people can visit," she told DW. "That is still appealing." Ryder was obsessed with this dark and brooding scene, which he worked over more than any of his other paintings. The tragic scene and his inability to let it go may in fact symbolize Ryder's realization that he was never to find a woman to love. From the mid-1890s until his death in 1917, he strove for the perfection of his inner vision, even though he pronounced the painting "finished" in 1896. Visitor after visitor remarked on the constantly changing position of Lorelei within the painting. Clara Schumann - Rethinking the Myth: Natasha Loges, Joe Davies, Laura Hamer, Jessy McCabe, Tara Erraught & James Baillieu 13 Oct 2019Lucius is a devout man with great regard for his fellow believers, and takes the credit for his magical acts to Sehanine, and sometimes even showing some arrogance for the protection that the goddess offered him. [5] He is respectful of his older relatives, and slightly humorous around his siblings, while maintaining a serious demeanor.

Lucius was the second eldest child in the Lorelei family after his sister Aurra, two years his senior. [7] He had vague memories of his mother, Rosalind, but for him it was his great-aunt Katerine Lorelei who raised and nurtured him alongside his father, Lord Haldur Lorelei (who had also been raised by Katerine), teaching him how to read and write. Lucius' Moon Domain is apparently unrelated to the Moon Domain presented in Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn, although it may have served as an inspiration for Matthew Mercer to create a new one for Exandria. Since TJ took an adapted subclass from an older edition, it could be interpreted as if Lucius' discipline as a cleric was more old-fashioned (in the same way that other elements of older editions of Dungeons and Dragons are considered ancient knowledge in the world of Exandria). Official art ofan undead Geneviève, by Kendra Wellsfrom " Liam's One-Shot: The Song of the Lorelei" (OSx23). [art 2]Heinrich Heine then refined the story in his 1824 poem Die Lorelei. The poem describes a female siren who sits atop the cliff combing her hair. Her beauty and song lure men to their deaths on the cliff below.

She was the eldest of the five Lorelei children, being two years older than Lucius, [8] and at least seven years older than Portia. [9]. Aurra remembered her mother, Rosalind, only a little, but it was great-aunt Katerine Lorelei who raised her alongside her father, Lord Haldur Lorelei (who had also been raised by Katerine), teaching her how to read and write. Both of these stories begin to reveal threads of the truth behind the Lorelei. Men interpret her as menacing as distracting, when she is merely existing in the channels of water. Her forces may churn the waters below, but she does not intend to bring harm. The Lorelei is not a mischievous sprite as the late 20th century would have her appear; she is the embodiment of the swishing energy of the Rhine. The Lorelei is actually a German myth. Most of the information comes from Romantic poet Clemens Brentano in his ballad Lore Lay . The tale is a continuation of one of his novels so naturally, the tale is embellished to fit the narrative, but it does reveal a lot about the nature of the nymph.

In 1801, Clemens Brentano was the first to write the popular legend of the Loreley in his poem, Zu Bacharach am Rheine. The siblings finally entered the crypt, proceeding cautiously in the darkness. Along the way Aurra informed them that she heard someone breathing up ahead, making Portia change into her werewolf form, while Lucius re-inspected the elven dagger with Lawrence, deducing it might be from Xhorhas. After that the siblings took a small break, during which Portia berated her older siblings for their decision to bury Katerine in the woods, away from the rest of House Lorelei. Aurra, however, defended her decision, saying that the old woman deserved a natural burial, and Lucius pointed out that half of their deceased ancestors were wandering the Cyrengreen Forest as undead anyway; [13] that caused him to notice the censers that were used to raise the dead, and he buried them in the mud to make sure they wouldn't activate again. As he did so, Benny asked if he had promised chastity as a cleric, to which his older brother reminded him that his deity was the goddess of secret romances, prompting Portia to clarify that Lucius had an active love life. [14] The younger brother admitted that if he had known, he would have paid more attention to his Aunt Kat's stories about the Moonweaver, and Lucius took advantage of the moment to reminisce about the deceased woman's teachings, [15] Haldur's lessons, and why the siblings were there, using his Inspiring Leader feat to strengthen them all. The Lorelei character, although originally imagined by Brentano, passed into German popular culture in the form described in the Heine–Silcher song and is commonly but mistakenly believed to have originated in an old folk tale. The French writer Guillaume Apollinaire took up the theme again in his poem "La Loreley", from the collection Alcools which is later cited in Symphony No. 14 (3rd movement) of Dmitri Shostakovich. The character continues to be referenced in pop culture.

The siblings brought Haldur to his chambers, where he explained the whole situation and the truth behind his own mother's death, as well as the identity of the drow as his own father and Geneviève's former lover; he told them to learn from such a dark incident in their family history, asking them to help him seal the tomb again in the coming weeks, [17] and expressing how much he loved his children (receiving with humor his middle child's commentary about loving her more). [18] After such intense events he fell asleep, leaving Portia and her siblings thinking about the future of House Lorelei. Along the way Aurra informed them that she heard someone breathing up ahead, making Portia change into her werewolf form, while Lucius re-inspected the elven dagger with Lawrence, deducing by the inscription, "Silent Message", that it might be from Xhorhas. Portia is the name of one of Uranus' moons, which itself is named after the character from William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. This is the sort of femme fatale figure: One that is somewhat exaggerated and exploited and lends a sexual connotation to a story," she told DW. What is the Loreley?

While we saw regretfully little of the Blood Hunter in the main campaign, the three Lorelei siblings demonstrated several abilities in combat.
