As the name suggests, the fitting is 12 millimeters in diameter size and is often deemed the Candelabra Edison Screw (CES). It is the home of C7-sized lamps, so if you bought a C7 lamp before, it utilized the E12 fitting. Set the ISO as low as possible. For APS-C cameras this is ISO 100. For full frame cameras, you have the option to set ISO 50 via the expanded ISO settings. Notice I said it’s the diameter of the lamp holder and not the bulb’s screw? That’s because the actual screw cap on the bulb is slightly smaller in diameter than the fitting. If they were both exactly the same size then the screw wouldn’t fit! The exact measurements of the screw caps are: Imagine how good it would be to automatically crop a tall 9:16 shape for vertical video, which could keep you in the frame as you moved left and right, while simultaneously recording a traditional wide version, even if only in 1080p. This could become even better if Auto Framing also had access to the full height of the sensor in an Open gate mode. The E is for Edison screw base and the 39 is 39 mm across. Larger than the standard E26 or 26 mm across. Again, while the ZV-E1 is designed for video first, it can still take photos if you like, albeit at a maximum resolution of 12 Megapixels, such as these examples.

The uppercase "E" in a circle means the device is type approved to an ECE Regulation, while the lowercase "e" in a box indicates the device is type approved to an EEC Directive. It's rare to find one marking without the other, since the requirements are essentially identical. The number after the "E" or "e" signifies the country in which approval was granted. This doesn't necessarily indicate anything about the quality or performance of the device, though some countries' test-and-approval labs have reputations for being much stricter and others have reputations for being quite lax. But in a missed opportunity, the Auto Framing mode won’t let you choose a different aspect ratio, so all the cropped footage is in the traditional wide 16:9 shape.

Many bulbs with these bases are designed to mimic the look of a candle flame. Firstly, what are those numbers that come after the "E" in the circle or the "e" in the box? Most obviously from the outside the ZV-E1, like the FX3 and other ZV models, slices off the viewfinder head to become much shorter; in fact it becomes one of the smallest and lightest full-frame cameras to date, at least those with IBIS and without viewfinders.
