Inspired by the appearance and also their caramel/honeycomb pieces, I decided to make an eggs-tremely chocolatey Easter cake that’s perfect for all you chocolate lovers out there who love a bit of glitz! Start mixing very slowly and then as the butter and icing sugar start to combine increase the mixing speed. Continue until the frosting is light and fluffy. For teaspoon (tsp) and tablespoon (tbsp) measurements, please use measuring spoons* and not the type of spoons you eat with. Again this will ensure accuracy and provide the best results. And if you don’t like Oreos and fancy a tart that’s a little more elegant the my Bearby’s chocolate Tart is probably for you

Keep any of the leftover Crunchie pieces in a small bowl and blitz the remaining Crunchie bars, this time keep blitzing as much as you can until you mainly have a Crunchie dust left. Or how about adding a little orange zest and making a ‘chocolate orange tart’ you could even use a chocolate orange segment as the decoration! A great one for Christmas! Special –Easy Easter Chocolate Tart

Take the jug of wet ingredients and pour on to the butter mixture. Then add the sifted dry ingredients.

Is there a more iconic Easter baking recipe than the classic Chocolate Easter Nest? Super simple to make and an instant hit with children and adults alike. It’s almost like a right of passage to make chocolate Easter nests as a kid; be it with parents or grandparents, or at school or nursery…it seems like we have all made these in one form or another in our childhood. I also have exciting news for UK readers: you know how we aren’t able to get Kraft caramels here and there’s basically nothing that’s exactly the same? When I think of millionaire's shortbread I think of richness and luxury, and I get the same thoughts from Galaxy chocolate too. So I combined the two into this Galaxy Chocolate Millionaire's Shortbread! There's Galaxy chocolate in the shortbread base, it's covered with a layer of Galaxy chocolate and then I've decorated it with a selection of Galaxy chocolates - enchanted eggs, minstrels and their caramel eggs. This is a luxury treat as it's so indulgent and delicious, it really feels special when you bite into a chunk of it! You could have this for Easter if you like, or any time of year with different Galaxy treats on top! Ingredient Tips & Equipment InformationWell Werther’s now make soft caramels and they are the most similar thing to Kraft caramels I’ve seen. Oh and they taste really good 😉 You can absolutely use different cereals in your chocolate Easter nests. I often change between cornflakes and rice crispies as they are both delicious in this recipe. I’d recommend using a little less rice crispies though, as they are a little lighter and you’ll end up with a lot more volume if you match the weight with cornflakes. And if you’re more of a savoury person but you fancy baking a treat why not try my lovely Cheese & Bacon Scones? I used unsalted butter for both the shortbread and caramel layers. You can use salted butter if you like, it won't make it taste salty, instead it will balance out the sweetness. However, I do prefer to use unsalted butter and add my own salt as then I can control the salt levels. You can also use a baking spread, but butter tastes much better in my opinion. It's not that baking spread tastes bad, just that real butter is richer and creamier.

Lastly, add in the boiling hot water, again slowly, mixing after each small pour. The batter will be quite loose, but this is what it takes to give the cake a lovely moist texture in the end. First of all, place a sieve over a bowl. Then sieve the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder into the bowl. Set the bowl to one side. Dry ingredients. This cake will keep in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Refrigerate is the weather is hot. If you have enjoyed this Easter recipe for Golden Egg Chocolate Sponge Cake you may also like these: To create my caramel layer, I popped a Werther’s caramel into the base of each cupcake liner, placed the cupcake batter on top and baked them to create a decadent, rich cupcake. It’s a no bake tart and easy peasy lemon squeezy to boot. It really does make the perfect Christmas or Easter Chocolate dessert I think.

And it looks like they have another fan-favourite on their hands with their brand new Harry Potter Golden Egg Tin that has shoppers obsessing over on Facebook. You can either leave it smooth, or do a pattern. Beat the ingredients in the bowl gently, scraping down the sides of the bowl halfway through. Continue to beat the ingredients until fully combined. I use granulated sugar for the caramel layer, but caster sugar (also known as superfine sugar) works well too.
