Life = Noise cancelling headphones. Includes over-ears (distinguished by 'Q') and in-ears (distinguished by 'P'). Comparing it with the other models from the range; the Soundcore A20i has a less articulated bass than the P20i, but comes with a more fluent and organic presentation with more open vocals, and more sense of space to give it a bigger sound. The Soundcore Life P2i, which lifts the lower treble (way) more to compete with the thumpy bass, also has a more vivid and energetic sound. I was also impressed by the Life P3’s audio quality. Like the over-ear Life Q30, boosted bass is the focus of the “Soundcore Signature” audio profile. However, it’s not nearly as overwhelming here, with the P3 striking a solid balance between robust low-end reproduction and clarity in the mid and upper registers. Well, that's a question I still can't quite answer. The specs are a bit better, that's a start. The P20i - also named the Soundcore R50i in India - now has Bluetooth 5.3 and plays up to 10 hours of music on a single charge (!); that's up to two hours more than the previously mentioned earbuds. It also recharges faster: 10 minutes of recharging in the case makes for two hours of extra listening time, instead of the single hour of previous models.

ANC quality: The biggest difference between the cheaper Soundcore Life P2i and Life P3i, is that the latter has Active Noise Cancelling. Unfortunately, it's not as effective as the best models in the 50-100 dollars price range as of mid-2022 - including the Soundcore Life P3. These Soundcore true wireless earbuds have decent build quality for their price. The case, as well as the earbuds, are sturdy even if the material feels plastic. The case comes with a hefty lid, a USB-C port below for charging, and an LED light at the front to show the remaining battery charge.

These true wireless earbuds do a better job of attenuating external sound than many pricier in-ear alternatives and offer a broad range of customisation options to boot. That's not to say that distortion is a problem here, as it really isn't, at least not at volumes you're more likely to listen to. I've grown to like the way Anker tunes its earbuds based on how they exceed expectations. The Life P3 are hardly audiophile quality, but they don't sound like earbuds that sell for this cheap a price.The charging case holds an additional 24 hours, giving it a max capacity of 35 hours. Again, a much higher amount to work with compared to the AirPods Pro charging case (24 hours). Anker added wireless charging for good measure. The Anker Soundcore Life P3i has a battery life equal to Life A3i, 9 hours on earbuds, and the charging case provide around 27 hours. Total is 36 hours. In the real experience once full charge on earbuds, the Life P3i wireless earbuds offer approximately 6 to 9 hours. Depend on the volume level and turning on/off the ANC feature. However; single earbuds can use separately. That means if you use one earbud, they provide up to 12 to 18 hours of playtime. That is enough for a long flight across over continent. Hear the World Around You: Switch on Transparent Mode and talk to someone next to you with ease without removing your Life P3i noise cancelling earbuds. If you’re clamouring for more bass, you can toggle on the BassUp feature, which boosts low-end frequencies even further. I didn’t feel the need for it very often but it did successfully add weight and depth to dancier, bass-heavy playlists. Most Anker headphones are compatible with the Anker Soundcore app, which offers a graphic EQ and presets so you can adjust your headphones' sound to your liking. You can also remap controls and adjust the active noise cancelling (ANC) level to suit your needs.

This typically happened when I moved my jaw, while smiling or chewing for instance, and meant I needed to readjust the buds to reestablish an effective in-ear seal. This of course also hampers the earbuds’ ANC ability. Given that noise-cancellation is one of the P3’s strongest suits, it’s frustrating that it’s occasionally negatively impacted by an unstable fit. Although I found the Soundcore Life P3 very comfortable to wear, I did experience an annoying issue relating to their fit. Despite using the largest silicone eartips available, the earbuds would sometimes work themselves a little loose in my ears. Not to the point where they got anywhere close to falling out, but enough to affect their passive noise-cancelling seal. While testing began as early as last September with a launch pending since last November, Life P3i had not received Bluetooth certification and authorization by the FCC until just last month, and now, Soundcore finally seems about prepared to release the long-awaited yet new set of true wireless noise cancelling earbuds... The newer P3i is better on two points: it has around 6 hours instead of 4,5 hours of battery life with ANC on (9 vs 7 hours with ANC off), and its controls are (even) easier to use and change. This makes them more suitable to use for sports and heavy rains. The Soundcore Life P3i has no such water resistance.

The P20i does get support from the free Soundcore app for iPhone and Android, and that's its biggest win over the Life P2i and P2 mini. The app is delightfully easy to understand and use, and lets you add volume controls to the responsive - albeit slowly reacting - touch panels. It lets you activate the specific gaming mode that synchronizes gaming sound effects with the action on your screen quite well, making a game like Call of Duty mobile playable without heavy delays.
