The ending was surprising! I love it when books suprise me like this and have a lot it things that you didn’t see coming. Have you noticed how every book title nowadays has some kind of Shadow or some kind of Thorn? All that's missing is the Bone. "Curse of Shadows, Thorns, and Bones!!" Tell me someone else has heard that before!? It's getting hard to keep up. It was great to see Elise become even more fierce and more confident in herself and her fighting. We have Elise, a princess who doesn’t like to follow the rules, she’s cunning, witty and brave. She’s your typical female lead.

You kept me up until 2:00am. But... We’ve seen this done many times before and I’m sad to say… we’ve seen it done better. So nothing new, nothing all that exciting happening here and EXTREMELY predictable. Like, didn’t even try to hide it at all. I liked this so much more than the first one and, to be honest, I didn’t expect it, since sequels tend not to live up to the high expectations. But, Court of Ice and Ash delivered on everything i expected and wanted.

This time around we get a dual POV and I loved how it's done here. This way we get a little bit into what's going on in Valen and Elise's minds and why they're acting the way they are. This way I didn't feel angry or annoyed at either one for making dumb decisions. I got to see the why behind their decision making. They're both trying to deal with all the craziness that is the end of book 1! I loved how authentic both their points of views felt while dealing with everything. Superb writing!
