About this deal

Arcane Eye is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy. Portions of the materials used are property of Wizards of the Coast. Give yourself a personal Fog Cloud for a turn. The Disadvantage effect is great if you’re drawing a lot of attention and need some short-term protection. This sourcebook also provides over 30 giant-themed magic items, including three legendary artifacts, while offering Dungeon Masters valuable tools like lair maps, adventure hooks, encounter tables, treasure ideas, and inspiration for roleplaying giants. The feats are all quite strong, as most of the 4th-level feats come with an ASI and a full feat’s worth of benefit. But, as we’ve seen with the latest 5e content and 2024 Player’s Handbook playtests, they also come with a feat tree-esque restriction system, which should balance things out a bit. We’ve reviewed each of these feats in-depth in our separate feat guides: As for encounter tables, they aren’t separated by CR, meaning they’re not particularly useful for preparing a combat encounter. They also have an arbitrary “Attitude” mechanic thrown in that would be hard to account for if you were simply rolling to generate an encounter.

Glory of the Giants The Best DnD 5e Feats In Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants

Death giants were once cloud giants who traveled to the eerie world of Shadowfell to preserve what remained of their empire and way of life. They eventually morphed into today's death giants, and in particular, the Shrouded Ones have mastered death magic in service of the Raven Queen. In fact, even their runes are death-themed, being a giant's skull with etchings on it. Armor of Safeguarding is a very rare magic item in Bigby Presents that requires attunement and can appear in a variety of armor types, such as ringed mail and splint. Aside from the normal AC bonus, Armor of Safeguarding boosts the wearer's HP by 10 plus their level, excellent for melee characters like fighters, barbarians, and paladins. In our 5e Feats Tier List, Strike of the Giants was given a B Tier rating, making it a niche feat that can improve some builds in D&D 5e. What’s scarier than a frost giant? How about a vengeful undead frost giant? Frostmourns are what might happen when you don’t solve your frost giant infestation in an ethical way. A frost giant killed through some dishonorable means can rise up again as a frostmourn. That means a cunning party who tries to avoid a dangerous combat by killing a giant in their sleep might find themselves being stalked by a mummified giant’s corpse looking for that sweet, sweet vengeance. I'm a little concerned about the content ... will it be unique content? Or just a mish-mash of content from other books? Wizards of the Coast has worked hard to ensure no Giant encounter feels stereotypical or same-y. It’s clear these creatures are more than just lumbering behemoths, with no fate other than the end of an adventurer’s blade.

Glory of the Giants Backgrounds and Feats Breakdown - RPGBOT Glory of the Giants Backgrounds and Feats Breakdown - RPGBOT

The Bloodshed Blade is a ferocious new magic item in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants that can appear in a variety of sword types, from greatswords to rapiers. Whatever this weapon's form, it has the same effect of using Hit Dice and the user's CON modifier to boost damage output. That makes it ideal for classes like paladin, barbarian, and fighter. They function as clerics within their society, so roleplaying one with a deep spiritual connection to the power within their runes opens up a lot of opportunities for different types of encounters with them, either in combat or through social interaction with your players. They could be antagonistic from the start, or perhaps they could be open to sparing the tiny lives of your little band of adventurers, if they’re able to aid them in some way. Frost Giant of Evil Water Also, it looks like they’re including options on encounter tables for Monsters of the Multiverse, which is a first, and have done it quite well. The encounter tables all have 12 options, but the last two of each table feature MoM monsters. If you don’t have the book, you roll a d10, but if you do, you can expand your options by rolling a d12.

The “enclaves” are short, easily digestible adventures that will be easy to slot into campaigns, especially when combined with the encounter tables in the previous chapter. Bigby the Great recounts his journeys into the history, myth, and society of giants in this guide to their realms in the worlds of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. Here Bigby and the demigod Diancastra, child of the giants’ All-Father, Annam, unveil the secrets of Annam’s mighty descendants. Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants introduces a small handful of scions, enormous incarnations of giant gods such as Surtur, Memnor, and Thrym, along with elemental "cradles" to contain them and let them sleep in peace. All of the scions are cool and scary monsters to serve as late-game boss battles for high-level parties, but the Scion of Surtur is the coolest.
