OxiClean is well-known for its effective cleaning power, so it’s no surprise that the brand’s Versatile Stain Remover Powder was able to completely get rid of red wine—one of the most stubborn stains—during our testing. Unlike other laundry stain removers, this oxygen-based, water-activated formula works on various types of fabrics and clothing as well as upholstery, carpet, grout, and other surfaces. When testing this product in our lab, the stain removed worked well against fresh stains, but it stood out among the rest in terms of removing set-in stains. It completely removed set-in grass, marker, olive oil, and chocolate syrup stains. Though it wasn’t able to fully remove makeup and red wine stains, both stains were lightened quite a bit. Please note that any overseas shipment is at your own risk and you will hence need to take out insurance to cover any damage in transit. To remove stains, hold the can six inches away from the stained fabric and spray. Then, wait one to five minutes and launder as usual. Be careful not to let the spray sit for too long on the fabric so it doesn’t dry.

It is currently not possible to deliver to Europe. We hope to reinstate this service as soon as possible. Miss Mouths’ Messy Eater Stain Treater is a powerful stain remover designed for little (and big) professional mess makers and the patient souls that care for them. Beet Juice, Carbon, Tea and Grape Juice (yes it is odd that grape juice is different from wine but we tested it!) Natural laundry stain removers will usually contain ingredients such as enzymes, sodium citrate, glycerin, and sodium carbonate. They’ll also usually be free of synthetic fragrances and dyes. Grass stains may seem easy to remove since they come from organic matter, but they can be a challenge to get out once they’ve set in. Whether you’re an outdoorsy person yourself or have active children who love to roll around in the grass, the Shout Advanced Ultra Concentrated Gel Brush is about to be your new go-to on laundry day. In our tests, we found that this gel stain remover was the best at eliminating both fresh and set-in grass stains. When testing this product, our testers noticed that this product completely removed both fresh grass stains and set-in grass stains. In addition to the grass stains, the stain remover also completely lifted the marker, chocolate syrup, and olive oil stains. However, the formula struggled to remove red wine and makeup stains. Testers also noted that the spray bottle was simple to point and spray, and no scent was detected. The hardest stains to remove are the ones that aren’t treated as soon as possible. “Lifting stains immediately will help reduce the likelihood of long-term damage and stains,” Cohoon says. To best remove tough stains, be sure to follow your garment’s specific laundering instructions and the instructions on the laundry stain remover. This laundry stain remover pen is the ideal solution for getting rid of stains while on the go without the need for immediate soaking or washing. “It’s definitely a product to keep on hand, though the small size and slow application process make this more of an emergency product, or better suited for small areas,” says one tester. While testing this product, our testers noted that this formula was able to remove more of the makeup stains than any other products we tested. It didn’t entirely remove the foundation stain, but it did significantly lighten the spot. In addition to working well on the makeup stains, it also completely removed fresh grass and chocolate syrup stains.

Blot wet stain of excess liquid or moisten dry/old stains with water, apply The Hate Stains Co. product and then launder as usual or rinse away soapy residue. Our products' ingredients have been used to clean hands in labs and hospitals for over 40 Years, However, to reiterate what it says on the label: Our testers found that this laundry stain remover worked best on fresh food stains. After one treatment, the chocolate, olive oil, grass, and marker stains were completely removed from the stained t-shirts. The red wine stain showed improvement, but it was still visible. The testers also noted the spray bottle was simple to use, and there was no noticeable scent.

It didn’t completely remove the stain, but it lightened the spot much better than other products we tested. Formula: Ethoxylated Alcohol C12-C15 (a 100% Biodegradable non-ionic surfactant), Glycerin, Sodium Sulphite (Food Grade Additive), Ethanol, Citric Acid, Overall, because of its ability to remove fresh food stains, the Tide To Go pen earned a spot as the best pen stain remover on our list. Our testers stated they would recommend this product since it is affordable, portable, and effective. During testing, our testers applied grass, olive oil, marker, chocolate syrup, red wine, and makeup stains to t-shirts and circled each stain with a permanent marker. After waiting at least one minute, they followed the manufacturer’s instructions to attempt to remove each stain.

I also suggest adding a half-cup of white vinegar or a quarter-cup of Downy Rinse & Refresh to the fabric-softener slot of your washing machine (make sure to press the fabric-softener button or the machine won’t add the product to the rinse cycle). Downy Rinse & Refresh is an acidic, super-low-pH formula that is designed to strip away gunk and minimize odor. It’s much more powerful than white vinegar and works really well on blitzing odors from synthetic fabrics. (Notably, it is not a fabric softener, even though it’s a Downy product that goes in the fabric softener slot.)Blood stains can be tough to remove because they contain proteins that bind to fabric fibers. To treat a blood stain, soak the garment in cold water for 30 minutes before laundering it as usual,” Flores says. “Grass stains are difficult to remove because of their saturated green pigments, so it might require repeating the stain removal process a few times. Ink is also hard to remove from fabric because it’s water-resistant. To treat an ink stain, blot the area with a dry cloth to absorb as much of the ink as possible.” WARNING: Causes Eye Irritation. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. If eye irritation persists, seek medical advice/attention. IF SWALLOWED: Get immediate medical advice if you are unwell. To come up with this list, we blind-tested 30 laundry stain removers in our Lab (aka our testers were not aware of the brands they were evaluating until all tests were completed). To test each product’s effectiveness on fresh stains, we applied 1 teaspoon of red wine, 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup, a smear of grass, and a scribble of a blue Crayola marker to a yellow T-shirt and drew circles around each stain. Testers also applied 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of foundation to a separate T-shirt to judge each product’s efficacy on oil-based stains.
