However unless one is a fan (pun intended) of the beige/brown - Nanoxia DS would be a better upgrade: Metaluna - Friday, November 23, 2012 - link Seems to me that what we need is for the industry to standardize on a set of connectors for modular PSUs. That would allow an aftermarket to develop for modular PSU cables of any length you need. Like in this case it looks like the main power connector only needs to be around 8" or so, if that. There are outfits that sell custom modular cables for select PSUs (e.g. Seasonic X-series) but they are ridiculously expensive. The same rules apply if you take out two of the drive cages to squeeze in a 310mm graphics card. To get anywhere near a tidy build in the Node 304 a modular PSU is a must.

HTTP status codes indicate information exchange. They let you know if the request you made was successful or if there was an error. As for fitting a dual 92mm rad in front - you'd lose all the HDD bays and you'd be limited to a video card with a shorter PCB. But it seems doable. I've taken over the thread to turn it from a new case thread to an actual owners club. I am open to suggestions, so please let me know if you have any comments or any thing else to add. Fractal Design's Node 304 is in many ways a surprising jump forward in case design. We've seen SilverStone, BitFenix, Lian Li, and Cooler Master all try their hands at mITX cases with varying degrees of success, but there's just no set design language when you get down this small. The conventions we take for granted in ATX case design don't really apply here, but Fractal Design has tried for something fairly different with the Node 304, even by mITX standards. First and foremost: because they won't fit in the case. But they're also (usually) out of my budget.

If you don't fancy installing any hard drives, the two white cages can be removed. Interestingly, when throwing a PC together inside the Node 804, careful planning of cable management needs to occur to avoid creating a hot mess. Having the PSU and main storage array located behind the motherboard and other components helps keep everything simple. In both instances the loudest component in my system was a whining WiFi adapter on my motherboard (after I went all-SSD). But quality of PSUs under 500W varies a lot more, because manufacturers have to keep the price down. While the maximum size support for motherboards is microATX, you can get a good deal on older boards that work with powerful Intel processors for running Plex Media Server, virtual instances, and other server-related tasks. There are also some good gaming motherboards in this segment that will make for great PC foundations.Cooling 2 x 92mm front fan mounts (fan supplied), 1 x 120/140mm rear fan mount (140mm fan supplied) theMetal - Air cooling works well in the case. From what I've seen I'm almost positive any heat sink will fit in the case and fit is more determined by your itx motherboard than the case its self. Corsair is better in performance, is smaller, has shorter cables etc. And it has a passive mode, but I'm still worried about noise. I use standard hardware, but you WILL be able to fit a GTX 560 Ti (albeit probably barely) or even a 680 in this case if you put a smaller PSU in. The above image was supplied by Fractal too who assured me: "If this dont fix you issue we can change the hole USB PCB + Cable" when I asked about voiding warranty etc.

From here on out, to be added to the list, just start your post off with " Add me" in bold and leave a picture of your Node. I will get you added as soon as possible. Regarding GPU: Have you thought of RX480 8GB? It's priced similarly to 1060, has a larger framebuffer and has a slight advantage in DX12 and Vulkan over GTX1060. I own a very similar rig stuffed inside a LianLi Q11B case, and I had a couple of different PSUs in it (EVGA 500B and Seasonic 450W Gold). Most of you may not know Fractal Design, but the company has been making a splash with their unique enclosures for a competitive price. The company also sells power supplies, case fans, and a few accessories. Case: Fractal Design Node 804 (yes, I got that 304 brings a pain with cable management and air flows)Inside - undo the four thumbscrews and remove the cover - are three white drive cages each holding two drives in either 3.5 or 2.5-inch formats. Yes, that's right, an ITX case that can support six hard drives. The 3.5-inch drive mounts have rubber grommets fitted to help dampen down any noise. I always try to buy well known good quality brands that use proper OEM units. The EVGA G2's are great( which I've run out of the PC to prime a water cooling system and I couldn't hear anything from it). I have a couple NZXT 550's that are near silent too. If nothing else in the PC is going to be passive I can't see you ever hearing sound from it, unless you go with a low-end brand of course. yyrkoon - Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - link May as well call it 300W peak after adding a HDD, and optical drive. a Tad more with an SSD in addition.

The front two come with filters and there is a filter for the PSU as well, and they're all removable. All three case fans can be connected to the three-speed fan controller which comes with the case. A good quality single-rail 500W PSU is probably enough for almost any Intel consumer desktop unless they're getting crazy with multi-GPU or insane numbers of hard drives (like my fileserver which has 15 hotswap bays :P). Included fan controller for 3 fans 2 - Front mounted 92mm Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fans, 1300 RPM speed (compatible with 80mm fans) – included1 - Rear mounted 140mm Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fan, 1000 RPM speed (compatible with 120mm fans) – includedThe front panel can be easily removed by pulling it away from the main chassis to reveal the four fan mounts and dual dust filter setup. The two side panels are secured to the Node 804 using screws, and once those are extracted, you have unobstructed access to pretty much everywhere inside the case.
