Description

Thanks to excellent ceramic burrs and the spring mechanism which aids stability, the Porlex Mini has excellent grounds consistency. This consistency is maintained through most of its grinding range. For the price, it’s reasonable to expect a top product. But the burrs aren’t high-end and do produce a lot of fines. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m also not a fan of forward-motion grinding. But then again, perhaps it’s because I’m more used to the traditional hand grinding.

It comes in at a price point where you previously only had manual ceramic burr grinders or horrible electric grinders. Take this Hand grinder with you across the world or down the street. Either way, it’ll grind your coffee with ease and consistency. Porlex Mini Coffee Grinder II Features We strive to ensure that your delivery arrives safely to you, but we understand that sometimes accidents happen outside of our control. But I’m pretty confident that the company’s time as an underdog in the world of hand grinders is about to end. With that said, even out of the box, the grinder produces a very nice looking grind from the moka pot level on up to press pot. For the full review, we’ll be putting it through sieve tests to find out the particle size ranges, but early on, it’s looking pretty decent, except for espresso. The main argument for getting the grinder, though is that the combination of build quality, size, consistency, usability, AND the price is just phenomenal. Many of Timemore’s products have a distinctive look and feel, but there are also some weird glitches in their visual identity here and there. Sometimes they have funny translations and product names that are a bit off.

The Timemore C2 follows the general design template for manual grinders in 2020. It’s not trying to innovate too much, which is a good thing. It would normally take me around 60 seconds to grind enough coffee for an Aeropress with a moderate amount of effort. That means that for the same price you can get a solidly built hand crank grinder with excellent burrs. Or you can choose to go ultra-budget and still get a hand mill that is capable of producing a good cup. A hand crank mill is very durableAgain, it does reasonably well and better than you’d expect for the price. It’s not quite at the upper echelon since it still produces a fair amount of fines. However, you can still make tasty coffee with it. I know the company by chance, as I bumped into their booth at the annual Coffee Expo in Taiwan in 2017. Több információ a jogairól. The body itself is made of a dark grey aluminum that has a unique textured surface. I think it looks pretty good, and it’s not something I have seen other brands than Timemore use. We end with another grinder that conveniently fits directly in the AeroPress. The Porlex Mini Stainless Steel Coffee Grinder is a manual coffee grinder that’s compact enough to be easily stored away at the end of a brewing session, or even taken with you in travel. It can handle coarse to fine grinds, so it’s versatile enough to fit the needs of most users.

The Skerton Pro has the general Hario aesthetics, which means understated, beautiful, and soft. It’s hard not to be enamored with this grinder. The first thing that surprised me when using the grinder was how fast it was. It’s very noticeable and something I wouldn’t have expected. The Handground has 40 mm ceramic burrs, and it’s not a fast manual grinder. Thedull burrsespecially have problems when it comes to lighter roasts. The Jx-model from 1Zpresso is one of my absolute favorite hand grinders. I have had this model for several years, and truly believe that it offers the best value on the market. The low manufacturing tolerances for the original Porlex meant that the pentagonal nut had suffered from wear issues that rendered it useless. The wing nut does, in theory, solve this, but I did find the material a tad bit soft, wearing a slight but detectable notch after my second 12g grind. The JavaPresse Manual Coffee Grinder can be a great option for users who do most of their brewing with the AeroPress. This is largely because the grinder actually fits within the AeroPress tube, making it super portable and great for traveling. Compared to the 1Zpresso Jx, there was less clarity and distinction in the flavor notes. But this was something I noticed when doing a side by side comparison. It is, however, super small, lightweight, and sturdy – everything you want from a portable grinder.

Don’t listen to the manufacturers and their marketing BS. Let me break down the features for you here, so you know what to go for in a grinder. The K-Max is quite a bit more expensive than the popular Jx, but you get a ton of value for your money here. Even for a manual grinder, this is very compact. The small size makes it perfect to pop in your bag or inside your AeroPress. I have been a coffee geek since I started home roasting more than a decade ago. Since then, coffee has taken me on countless adventures: From ancient coffee ceremonies in Ethiopia to the volcanos of Sumatra. The Porlex Mini Mill is the ultimate grinding tool for the travelling coffee enthusiast. Though skeptics may not have thought it possible, the designers at Porlex managed to build a lightweight, precise, durable, and consistent grinder that is still small enough to fit inside an Aeropress. While the size definitely means sacrificing capacity, it’s well worth it for campers, digital nomads, and holidaymakers who want guaranteed delicious coffee on the move.
