age 7 - My favorite story was The Two Bad Mice, where they broke the pots and broke the pans of Jane and Mary's dollhouse. The Tailor of Gloucester tells the story of a poor tailor trying to survive in his freezing workshop over a hard winter. He has a terribly important commission to complete for the Mayor of Gloucester's wedding on Christmas Day but is ill and tired, and before long is running out of food and thread, as well as time! How will he possibly complete the beautiful coat and embroidered waistcoat? I thought I left a review for this, but there's a chance that my phone ate my review before it saved. So here goes, again Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Beatrix Potter (illustrator). Reprint. The Original and Authorized edition, F. Warne & Co. 12 volumes complete in slipcase. A Near Fine set. 16mo., each volume approximately 84 pp., illustrated with b&w and color drawings and plates. White glossy paper boards. Some minor creasing to the spines. A Near Fine set in a Good slipcase. Stars. These stories are very aged and the writing is very old. They’re alright but nothing I care to read again. My daughter doesn’t seem to care much about them either.

What surprised me about these stories is how playful they are and how grisly they are at the same time. For example, you’ll read a story about a bunch of cute little chipmunks bringing gifts to an owl so they can look for nuts on his lands – and then all of a sudden a character is seconds away from literally skinning someone alive. In meinen Augen sind sie super geeignet um Kindern Englisch bei zu bringen. Denn es sind auch viel mehr Geschichten für Kindern, die sich immer um einen Protagonisten drehen (wie z.B. Peter Rabbit oder Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle).
