Even when cooking with charcoal you'll still get a helping hand with gas on the Char-Broil Gas2Coal BBQ . You need to ignite the charcoal using the gas burners, and then leave them to burn on high with the lid closed for 15 minutes.

Admittedly, I did review the Char-Broil Gas2Coal BBQ on a handful of windy March evenings, so if you were to use it in the summer when the sun is out and the wind is less strong it's unlikely to blow your flame around, but I was concerned when the burner was on full strength that the flames seemed to be flowing just about everywhere but underneath the pan I was trying to heat. If the grate were a little lower I'd have been able to cook my peas a lot faster! Usually combo grills are listed as a combination between a charcoal and a gas grill. Not so with the Smoke Hollow. This unit is listed as a combination of an incredible FOUR types of BBQ: Propane, Charcoal, Smoker, and Infrared Searing Burner.

You have to be very careful not to burn your food on coals, but with this gas BBQ you can instantly turn the heat down, which you cant do with coals. The fixings (screws, nuts and bolts etc) were film wrapped on a piece of card. Each fitting was clearly visible through the shrink-wrapped cellophane. The code number for each fitting was printed on the reverse of the card. Brilliant idea, you can clearly identify each component fitting. High performance is one thing, but if the thing falls apart after only a handful of uses then the grill clearly up to the job. My other option would have been to partially dis-assemble the BBQ, and be more precise in fixing in the first place. My fault for not being meticulous and precise in the first place.
