Hecho con <3 en Asunción, República del Paraguay To be honest, I’m a little underwhelmed by the momentum of the series but I do think the core plot is pretty engaging and the main characters are well-designed and come with threads of motivation that can be woven together into a coherent narrative.

MoMo -the blood taker- Vol. 1 by Akira Sugito: 9781638585312

I would definitely give it a shot. Would recommend it. It is not the end of thew world if you didn't enjoy it. This could have been an easy banger; in the realm of 8 to a 9. The premise is solid. The characters are likeable. The art is great. but the author doesn't understand how to utilise characters effectively. We see the king twice in 50 chapters. we don't get a glimpse at how strong he is. we get one interaction with the anti vampire forces. and we find out that the main guy in said force is actually childhood friends with the mc. but nothing else afterward, he's not mentioned at all even after the interaction. While her design is certainly cool, she is depicted as a very young girl—which is problematic considering her character comes onto a middle-aged male character. It’s wholly unnecessary and wholly inappropriate on so many levels. Stars rounding up for the sections I really liked. This manga wanders from scene to scene and even from serious to comedic, and none of that is done terribly well in transition, however, a ton of stuff happens and is revealed, so I'll go with Gripes and Likes for this review.

The characters’ designs, particularly of the villainous vampires, are really what I’m latching onto here. They are gnarly designs and the story gets into the blood and guts. The horror is almost entirely reliant upon the vampires transformed designed and a few panels of gore—but, again, that doesn’t a dealbreaker make. Now, Tokyo is experiencing a string of gruesome murders. All the victims are mutilated and, most damning, drained of blood. This is the exact question Mikogami Keigo (Main Character) had to face. In exchange for his humanity he will gain the power to kill his lover's murder. the art and the story line would be good (horror and vampires!), if there wasn’t weird sexualisation of women and possibly a minor?? (but of course, she’s a vampire who’s 200 years old and then it’s ok to put her into lingerie😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫) While on the oriel for the two-faced vampire, Mikogami happens to catch attention of an unexpected girl. Silver-haired and childlike, she stands out.

Hier gar nicht der Fall. Ihre Kleidung ist ein wenig...auffällig, aber ansonsten konzentriert sich die Handlung auf Keigos (der Ermittler) Charakter, seine Vorgeschichte und die Morde. So, this series wasn’t on my radar until recently. And, I’ve been looking for a new horror series to sink my teeth into so I thought I’d give this one a try.
