Description

Popular culture and pornographic material often tend to depict the female orgasm as something usually achievable solely through penetration, but science tells a different story altogether. It might come as a surprise to learn that not only is the clitoris found across the mammals, it’s also found in birds. Just within our own group of mammals - the primates - its size, shape and function vary enormously.

Supporting an anatomical relationship between the clitoris and vagina is a study published in 2005, which investigated the size of the clitoris; Australian urologist Helen O'Connell, described as having initiated discourse among mainstream medical professionals to refocus on and redefine the clitoris, noted a direct relationship between the legs or roots of the clitoris and the erectile tissue of the clitoral bulbs and corpora, and the distal urethra and vagina while using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology. [101] [102] While some studies, using ultrasound, have found physiological evidence of the G-spot in women who report having orgasms during vaginal intercourse, [89] O'Connell argues that this interconnected relationship is the physiological explanation for the conjectured G-Spot and experience of vaginal orgasms, taking into account the stimulation of the internal parts of the clitoris during vaginal penetration. "The vaginal wall is, in fact, the clitoris," she said. "If you lift the skin off the vagina on the side walls, you get the bulbs of the clitoris–triangular, crescental masses of erectile tissue." [16] O'Connell et al., having performed dissections on the female genitals of cadavers and used photography to map the structure of nerves in the clitoris, made the assertion in 1998 that there is more erectile tissue associated with the clitoris than is generally described in anatomical textbooks and were thus already aware that the clitoris is more than just its glans. [103] They concluded that some females have more extensive clitoral tissues and nerves than others, especially having observed this in young cadavers compared to elderly ones, [103] and therefore whereas the majority of females can only achieve orgasm by direct stimulation of the external parts of the clitoris, the stimulation of the more generalized tissues of the clitoris via vaginal intercourse may be sufficient for others. [16] The textbooks had to be thrown out of the window because this organ – really an anatomical constellation – actually comprises the opening to the vagina and the front part of the urethra, as well as the organ formally known as the “clitoris”. Once a female chooses her mate, the pair will go through an important courtship ritual, in which the penguins bow, preen and call to each other. The ritual helps the birds get to know one another, and learn their respective calls so that they can always find each other. Not only is the Lelo Sila Cruise smaller in overall size than the Sona Cruise, but its mouth is wider and covers more of the clit (not just the head). This can lead to a more resonant, gradually building orgasm—a real benefit, according to one reviewer. “I told my husband that the orgasm the Sila Cruise gave me felt like a dying star collapsing in on itself—in a good way,” they wrote. Male ejaculation, with its close tie to orgasm, is crucial to reproduction,” she explains. “As a result, orgasm is embedded on female sexual hardware, too.”

But the substances thus released in the body, the scientists say, are not unlike those released in the bodies of other female mammals such as rats during intercourse, stimulating the release of eggs that can be fertilized. The vestibular bulbs are more closely related to the clitoris than the vestibule because of the similarity of the trabecular and erectile tissue within the clitoris and bulbs, and the absence of trabecular tissue in other genital organs, with the erectile tissue's trabecular nature allowing engorgement and expansion during sexual arousal. [27] [46] The vestibular bulbs are typically described as lying close to the crura on either side of the vaginal opening; internally, they are beneath the labia majora. When engorged with blood, they cuff the vaginal opening and cause the vulva to expand outward. [27] Although several texts state that they surround the vaginal opening, Ginger et al. state that this does not appear to be the case and tunica albuginea does not envelop the erectile tissue of the bulbs. [27] In Yang et al.'s assessment of the bulbs' anatomy, they conclude that the bulbs "arch over the distal urethra, outlining what might be appropriately called the 'bulbar urethra' in women." [28] Homology When it comes to positions with the Satisfyer Penguin, I had to do a bit of troubleshooting. Initially, I used this toy on myself, and everything was fine. I attempted to use it laying down at first and within 30 seconds of use (not joking), I doused my bedsheets. The next time I used the toy, I attempted to use it standing up (to avoid the waterfall on my nice clean sheets) but found that the toy’s power actually made my knees a bit weak (again, not joking).

See? When I was joking with my girlfriends about the Womanizer being a clit vacuum, I wasn’t completely joking. Let’s face it: Many people with vaginas can’t get off without clitoral stimulation. Sex feels good, but intercourse isn’t always great. The Womanizer bypasses this problem by focusing solely on the clitoris, and the effects are astounding. I can’t understand why we don’t celebrate the important role the clitoris plays in our lives. I’d like to see a massive sculpture of the new 3D printed organ erected inside every science museum in the world! In a culture that has focused on the importance of reproduction to the detriment of enjoyment, the clitoris has lain forgotten, and the public and medical professionals alike have felt embarrassed to discuss and pay closer attention to it. Yet the entire organ extends much farther than that, and this notion was initially brought to public attention only a few years ago by researcher Dr. Helen O’Connell.

They still develop nipples, however, because they — like pretty much all body parts — are preprogrammed in the earliest stages of embryonic development. The clitoral frenulum or frenum ( frenulum clitoridis and crus glandis clitoridis in Latin) [31] is a band of tissue formed between the undersurface of the glans and the top ends of the labia minora. [31] [32] It is homologous to the penile frenulum in males. [31] The frenulum's main function is to maintain the clitoris in its innate position. [31] Body External and internal parts of the clitoris; clitoral body located behind the number 2 General statistics indicate that 70–80 percent of women require direct clitoral stimulation (consistent manual, oral, or other concentrated friction against the external parts of the clitoris) to reach orgasm. [N 4] [N 5] [N 6] [87] Indirect clitoral stimulation (for example, via vaginal penetration) may also be sufficient for female orgasm. [N 7] [16] [89] The area near the entrance of the vagina (the lower third) contains nearly 90percent of the vaginal nerve endings, and there are areas in the anterior vaginal wall and between the top junction of the labia minora and the urethra that are especially sensitive, but intense sexual pleasure, including orgasm, solely from vaginal stimulation is occasional or otherwise absent because the vagina has significantly fewer nerve endings than the clitoris. [90]In an article published in the journal Sex Roles in 2000, researchers Shirley Mattel Ogletree and Harvey J. Ginsburg write that the clitoris had been shrouded in secrecy. The second-place solo position in my opinion has to be the missionary position. This was, as I said, the first position I tried with the toy and despite the need to immediately change my sheets, it was perfect. I was relaxed and comfortable and the toy fits nicely in my hand.

In fact, the little hill (protected by a cloak of skin, or the “clitoral hood,” which is found over the urethral opening) is just the tip of the much larger organ that is the clitoris. According to Nagoski, the female orgasm is a “byproduct” of biological homology, and so it should be celebrated as a fantastic bonus. Gender assessment and surgical treatment are the two main steps in intersex operations. "The first treatments for clitoromegaly were simply resection of the clitoris. Later, it was understood that the clitoris glans and sensory input are important to facilitate orgasm," stated Atilla. The clitoral glans' epithelium "has high cutaneous sensitivity, which is important in sexual responses", and it is because of this that "recession clitoroplasty was later devised as an alternative, but reduction clitoroplasty is the method currently performed." [26]Even more remarkable, the bonobo clitoris sits in a different spot to both common chimpanzees and humans: it’s found between the legs, not towards the front of the body, which aids sexual stimulation. The clitoris has an abundance of nerve endings, and is the human female's most sensitive erogenous zone and generally the primary anatomical source of human female sexual pleasure. [2] When sexually stimulated, it may incite female sexual arousal. Sexual stimulation, including arousal, may result from mental stimulation, foreplay with a sexual partner, or masturbation, and can lead to orgasm. [52] The most effective sexual stimulation of the organ is usually manually or orally ( cunnilingus), which is often referred to as direct clitoral stimulation; in cases involving sexual penetration, these activities may also be referred to as additional or assisted clitoral stimulation. [53] Concerning historical and modern perceptions of the clitoris, the clitoris, and the penis was considered equivalent by some scholars for more than 2,500 years in all respects except their arrangement. [131] Due to it being frequently omitted from, or misrepresented in, historical and contemporary anatomical texts, it was also subject to a continual cycle of male scholars claiming to have discovered it. [132] The ancient Greeks, ancient Romans, and Greek and Roman generations up to and throughout the Renaissance, were aware that male and female sex organs are anatomically similar, [133] [134] but prominent anatomists such as Galen (129– c. 200 AD) and Vesalius (1514–1564) regarded the vagina as the structural equivalent of the penis, except for being inverted; Vesalius argued against the existence of the clitoris in normal women, and his anatomical model described how the penis corresponds with the vagina, without a role for the clitoris. [135] Given the price point and warranty of this toy, it’s a bargain if I ever saw one. Not only is this a great, powerful, reliable sex toy that you can get used to incorporating quite seamlessly into your sex life, but it also comes with a very, very long warranty, meaning you will never have to go without it.
