About this deal

While I did hate Drew in the first book, this book did show a nice side to Drew and he was adorable at times. But there was absolutely no chemistry and I honestly couldn't wrap my head around how he dealt with Jessie. And as is with Sarah's books there must just be something she likes about the 'miscommunation trope' :/ I am always looking for more “real” rom-coms. I like roommate romances. The forced proximity is a great setup for a romance. this book is so wholesome and hilarious. I've been so obsessed with drew and jessie since the off limits rule! in this book, jessie needs to stay somewhere while her house got renovated and drew also needs someone to be his fake date in an upcoming event, so what next? they agreed to help each other anddddd it's a war of pranks between them. (love it) Even if it’s a favorite, the enemies-to-lovers and/or the hate-to-love trope is either a hit or miss for me. This book just proves it’s a HARD miss for me. Went from reading to skimming. This book was just not worth it. Here are my thoughts and they can be spoilery:

The Temporary Roomie: A bestselling Romantic Comedy ǀ A

When pregnant Jessie needs a place to stay, Drew's mostly empty house is the perfect solution, but once again, it's an all-out war of unbelievable pranks that had me gasping, laughing, and even swooning. They've each met their match and it's game on.The TemporaryRoomie is not as good as I expected. The beginning of the story, it l9oks really good then the middle part becomes boring and the last part is flat. Also, the fact that she was 7 months pregnant, they only met for the first time when she was already pregnant (with someone else’s baby) and it ended up in a perfect HEA all within the span of 3 months… without a serious talk of what jumping into a relationship when she’s prego with someone else’s baby means… idk, bugged me a little. Wanted more in that area altogether. Once again I'm never gonna hate anyone who enjoyed this book, it's their choice but I'm just too determined to think that now her books are definitely not for me. I just can't deal with the pettiness and the way the characters are not really adults okay? They're more like children advertised as adults. Jessie has experienced a lot of loss already and it translates to her pushing everyone away and never accepting help. I understand that and think she could really benefit from therapy to work through her feelings of abandonment. I gave her some leeway because of this, but it doesn't excuse the mean things she says. The pranks, as much as they should have been hilarious, they weren't and the proposal prank was so messed up on different levels. This is honestly so stupid. AND I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Jessie was pregnant because yes while I do understand the mood swings pregnant women have, she was basically another immature child.

Born and raised in Nashville TN, Sarah Adams loves her family, warm days, and making people smile. Sarah has dreamed of being a writer since she was a girl, but finally wrote her first novel when her daughters were napping and she no longer had any excuses to put it off. So many tropes and such great romcom moments keep this funny story from Sarah Adams moving swiftly. It’s the second in a series but works perfectly as a standalone. Underneath all the aggressive feelings, both Drew and Jessie are kind and silly for each other. It’s a fun and slightly ditsy read, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon ❤️ Jessica has landed into Drew’s spare bedroom because her house is being renovated. It’s like being your greatest rival’s temporary roommate. The Temporary Roomie: A bestselling Romantic Comedy ? A hilarious romance of enemies turned lovers as seen on TikTok The banter between the main characters is so good and their pranks are so funny. I love Drew and Jessie so much!!

What happens when you have to play nice with your greatest enemy? Revenge. Drew Marshall may have let me move into his spare bedroom while my house is being renovated, but don’t think for one second his kindness comes without strings. Big, ugly, fake relationship strings. That’s okay, though, Dr. Andrew. I’ll agree to your terms, move into your house, and act like your girlfriend when the big day comes; but I also plan to make your life miserable–make you pay for what you did to me. I may not be good at forgiving or forgetting, but I’m excellent at getting even. Get ready to laugh until you cry with this sizzling, hilarious, closed-door romantic comedy! The Temporary Roomie (It Happened in Nashville, #2) by Sarah Adams – eBook Details Both characters made appearances in The Off Limits Rule and characters from that one make appearances here. Immature characters. This sadly goes to Jessie again because god.. sometimes I forget she’s pregnant with all that’s happening.

Drew is a doctor who has mastered the art of hiding his true thoughts and feelings. He lets Jessica – his sister’s best friend – move in to his house, even though she is his arch nemesis. Jessie is starting to make sense to me, and she’s only becoming more beautiful as she comes into focus.” Did I say the previous book was juvenile? Because this book really surpassed it and I'm not even disappointed at the moment. I knew I was going to be disappointed when I started this book. I don't know why all the characters she writes are so whiny and act worse than teenagers.

I'm not too big on the pregnancy or enemies to lovers trope, but I do like the fake dating, which we know is predictable. Jessie was a little much at times and came off immature. There's a bit of pranking going on, some are funny and some were a little much. I did love good old Dr. Andrew, though. It seems like everything that could cause Jessie to detest her best friend’s brother Drew happens. He’s an attractive doctor who she knows she will fall for if she only lets herself feel. But after being abandoned by her father, her mom passing away when she was young and the father of her unborn baby high tailing it away from her, Jessie is not in a place to trust any guy. But could the pranks be hiding some real feelings? I think Sarah Adams would be right up your alley. They are all closed door romances. They are on KU. I don’t know if you use that service. If not, hopefully your library has one! Featuring ~ pregnancy, best friend's brother, sister's best friend, fake relationship, enemies to lovers, roommates to lovers, forced proximity, no steamage Cooper comes out of the house with two travel mugs full of coffee. Because he’s practically my husband, I bet he has even added the perfect amount of my favorite creamer.”

I do enjoy a good romcom. I have not read anything by Sarah Adams, but will see if my library has any. This one sounds like a lot of fun and who doesn’t love a romance that starts with revenge? Este libro tenía mucho potencial, contaba con tres de las mejores tropas para mí: enemies to lovers, roommates y relación fingida, pero Jess hizo que todo fuese muy tedioso. Si el personaje no fuese tan inmaduro me encantaría este libro. De verdad que ella fue lo que me arruinó toda la trama. jessie is in serious need of a favor: she needs a place to stay while her house is being fixed. drew is in the same situation: he needs a fake date for an event with his colleagues. roomies and fake dating who hate each other.. what could go wrong? the house becomes a battlefield of pranks that, inevitably, will blur the barriers between hate and love. I didn't love Jessie in the first book, but I thought maybe I'd like her more once I got into her head. Nope, I liked her even less. While some of the pranks she pulls are funny, some are mean and done with malice. She's a twenty something about to have a baby, but acts like preteen with her tantrums and whining. Drew isn't totally innocent and does play pranks too, but he also has moments where he's sweet to Jessie. Remembering foods she likes and doesn't, giving her massages when she's achy, caring about her health. I'm not sure how he put up with her ridiculousness. Okay I'm gonna repeat myself but please, just please stop showing the characters as enemies.... when one moment they're like "you're my enemy!" And playing silly pranks on each other and the next "Oh I love him". Can I ask ask authors to make the enemies seem more like enemies and not just 'oh you did this? Now I'm gonna hate you' nah that's a misunderstanding... and I find it ironic that she calls Drew 'selfish' but then she is the one who is the 'selfish' one.
