Confessions yang ditulis oleh Kanae minato tergolong genre iyamisu. iyamisu adalah subgenre thriller dalam literasi Jepang. Menurut Hon no Zasshi, secara etimologis iyamisu berarti misteri yang membuat pembaca bergidik dan bergumam, "Ihh!". Istilah ini sendiri dipopulerkan oleh kritikus misteri Aoi Shimotsuki pada tahun 2006. Firstly I would never have come across this book if it wasn't for a friend here on Good reads who's review encouraged me to read this wonderful novel.

There’s a lot going on with Kanae Minato’s unique writing style. Unflinching and gruesome, while remaining somewhat removed offers an altered perspective. By cycling through characters perspectives, the reader has the opportunity to learn their motives as each tells their version of events; before, during and after the death of Manami. If you are looking for an addicting and concise thought provoking psychological thriller. This is definitely it.. the book discussed various themes like - role of teachers in society, intense bullying, minor criminals and law aganist them.

I wasn't about to find the entire film on YouTube but I'm keeping my search. The few clips and videos I did see showed some differences in story but that's to be expected, books are always better and at time more disturbing. What I saw looked sooo good though.
