Description

There are multiple ways of finding the Light Dragon. If you’ve been focusing on the main story, you can pinpoint the Master Sword’s location by finding all 12 Dragon Tear memory locations. That method requires a lot of legwork, but thankfully, there are other, less time-consuming ways. Thunder does, however, hold grudges as well, as he possessed an intense desire for revenge on the Skrill that drove him and his family apart. This grudge was so deep that the Night Light was even willing to fire warning shots at Tom, despite of the strong bond they shared, just so that he could battle the Skrill alone. This shows that, like his rider, Thunder also possesses a sort of loner disposition and does like to do and keep things to himself at times. After being nearly defeated by the Skrill, however, Thunder came to be more accepting of his rider and friends' assistance in such matters, undergoing a similar experience to that of Tom following the battle. Goggles and Splattertail are Thunder's other younger siblings. Thunder became very happy to be reunited with his younger siblings. Like Shadow, they share the same playful nature and love to play around with others. Cloaking: Like a Light Fury, Thunder is able to cloak himself by firing a Plasma Blast in front of him and diving right into it. However, this ability doesn't work to its fullest when Thunder is being ridden by Tom, who remains visible. Can’t find the perfect name for your dragon? Try creating your own dragon name using our simple naming technique. First, you’ll want to make a list of nouns relating to your dragon’s power or ability. As an example, here are some nouns relating to an ice dragon:

Thunder first met Alex in " Featherhide" when she accidentally bumped into him and the other dragons in the woods outside of ICARIS, while she was searching for his rider Tom. When they first encountered each other, Thunder was friendly towards Alex, warmly smiling at her. Due to having never seen real dragons before, though, Alex was initially terrified of him Plowhorn, and Wu and Wei, running away in fright. After bonding with Feathers and then joining the Dragon Club, Alex overcame her fear of Thunder entirely, and the two have since formed a good friendship with each other. Both care about each other's wellbeing and are willing to help one another during battle and other serious situations. Like the other riders, Alex was shown to be concerned about Thunder's wellbeing when he journeyed into the Hidden World to face his old rival, and journeyed after him to find him. Thunder likewise has expressed concern for Alex during whenever she finds herself in danger and is always willing to come to her defense. Keep in mind that once you’ve recovered the Master Sword and the quest is complete, the marker will dissipate. If you want to be able to easily locate the Light Dragon to farm materials from it (more on this later), you might want to hold off on getting Link’s emblem weapon. Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Source images: Nintendo EPD/Nintendo via Polygon That said, it’s recommended you complete the Korok Forest quest, as this will mean the Light Dragon will fly lower to the ground. As such, you’ll be able to get to it just by using a nearby Skyview Tower to lift Link up to the sky. Until you complete the quest, there’s a chance that the dragon will be flying at the same height as the Sky Islands, for example, which will make the task significantly harder. Thunder is the distant descendent of the Great Alpha Dragon Toothless and the Light Fury. He is intelligent, loyal, courageous, and good-natured. He never shies away from a fight. He seeks to find his tribe of Night Lights.

Now, it’s time for the final list. In this final list, write down some location words of where your dragon was born, such as: Abomibumble: Gladgut • Scally-Slander • Smoldering Slaggert • Sneaky Abomibumble • Swamp Abomibumble The sounds and noises that are used for Thunder, his Father, and the Elder are the same croons and growls used for Toothless. Thunder is a descendant of Toothless and the Light Fury. As a Night Light dragon in the Strike class, he’s energetic, good-natured and courageous, so you won’t see him shy away from a fight. Able to fly higher and faster than the other dragons, Thunder is always ready to show of his blazing speed. In " Dragons of the Undead", when Feathers was abducted by the molting Featherhides, Thunder was shown to be very worried for her and fought hard to rescue her. Likewise, in " Follow the Lightning, Part 1", Feathers was shown to be upset that Thunder had left and was willing to face many perils in the secret chasms of the Hidden World to find him.

Stealth: Outside of cloaking, Thunder has shown to be pretty stealthy as he and the other dragons followed their riders without being heard or seen and could evade Tom's mother when she and his rider were cave exploring. Thunder got his name due to his electrical abilities just like Toothless got his name because of his retractable teeth.

In " Hearts of Heroes", he came to understand that Tom's closeness to Jun had grown into a relationship to where they really like each other. Thunder shows this understanding by being visibly concerned when Tom and Jun were arguing, and nudging Tom whenever the latter hesitates to confess to Jun. He even brought them a picnic for their first official date in " Eugene's Lean Mean Extreme Dream Team". Dive-Bombing: Like both Light and Night Furies, Thunder is capable of performing dive-bombing-like maneuvers in which he folds his wings to create a streamlined, aerodynamic shape as he dives from high altitudes. This not only grants incredible downward speeds, but also increases the strength of his plasma blasts for greater damage while also being accurately guided towards its target. Thunder, however, is unable to use this ability to his fullest when confined to an enclosed space while flying, such as the narrow paths of the Kullersen Fissure. Webmaster is the latest dragon to join the Dragon Club under Thunder and Tom's leadership. Despite this, Thunder, along with the other dragons in the Club, has not been very welcoming of Webmaster, despite the dragon's attempts to be friends. This is because Thunder is often annoyed by his many mischievous acts since joining the Club, much to the Deadly Spinner's sadness. Despite this, Thunder does care about Webmaster's wellbeing, even if he doesn't initially show it. While on mission together, the two are shown to work very well together, with Webmaster respecting the Night Light as his leader, while Thunder is willing to protect the Deadly Spinner from harm. Thunder respects the Elder and was happy to be reunited with him. The Elder became distrustful of Tom and the other humans after an accident with his lightning sword which was caused by Shadow. Thus, he forced Thunder to stay with his family. However, after seeing how well Thunder cooperated with Tom, and how they defeated the Snow Wraiths, the Elder was very thankful to the kids for helping him and saving the Clan, he even allowed Thunder to stay with Tom.

Night Light: Dart • Goggles • Elder Night Light • Father Night Light • Mother Night Light • Pouncer • Ruffrunner • Shadow • Splattertail • Thunder Like with the other riders in the Club, Thunder cares about D'Angelo's wellbeing, though he can be annoyed by D'Angelo's occasionally goofy disposition. D'Angelo likewise cares about Thunder's wellbeing and is willing to help him during intense situations. Now that’s a pretty cool dragon name, right? And here are some other cool examples we created using this technique: If you spot the dragon out in the wild, either by chance or because you have the quest marker active, I recommend fast traveling to the nearest Skyview Tower. Taking this travel shortcut won’t affect the dragon’s position, resulting in a great method to get closer. Then, activate the tower to lift Link up to the air, and paraglide toward the Light Dragon. As said, if you want to make the process even easier, then make sure you clear out the Deku Forest first. This will see the dragon fly closer to the surface, and thus be more accessible from the height of a tower. This is the quest for the Master Sword, and thankfully, the Deku Tree will mark the location of the Light Dragon on your map. As long as you select the quest in your Adventure Log, you’ll see where the dragon is at all times, which is of great help. Deathly Galeslash: Bitter Galeslash • Celestial Royalwing • Copsekeep • Fog-Stalker • Frigid Galeslash The Light Dragon in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of many dragons roaming around the map and the hardest to find as it circles around all of Hyrule. The Light Dragon is also the most important as it’s where you’ll find Link’s iconic weapon, the Master Sword, along with valuable dragon parts such as the shard of Light Dragon’s scale, talon, and fang. Read on to find out the Light Dragon’s location and flight path, so you can grab some of the best Fuse materials and one of the best weapons in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Ridgesnipper: Broodnestle • Cliff Ridgesnipper • Scar-Carver • Serrated Sapling • Sharp Ridgesnipper Thunder and Wu and Wei's friendship was instant and they both seemed to be in sync when they growled at the large hole left by a Fault Ripper Dragon. Since the formation of the Dragon Club, Thunder has proven to be good friends with Wu and Wei, with the latter following Thunder's lead into battle without question, showing that the Mist Twister holds great respect for the Night Light as his leader. In addition, they, along with the other Dragon Club dragons, occasionally play together. Deathburple: Briarvane • Cave Deathburple • Eldritch Deathnettle • Kallaidospur • Tormentor Deathburple

Guided Tour

Like his ancestor, Thunder is intelligent, loyal, and always ready to take charge of the other dragons. Aside from their love of flight, Thunder and Tom are both incurably curious! [src] Our map above shows an estimated route based on findings from a few community sources, but we have not been able to confirm the exact route independently. Polygon has reached out to Nintendo for comment. Akin to the rest of the dragons in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you can farm dragon parts from the Light Dragon. When using Light Dragon parts for Fuse combinations, the part will imbue the Fused weapon with a healing effect and will restore a quarter of a heart per hit. Thunder’s ‘trident tail’ bears physical similarity to both the tail fluke of Winger the Swiftwing, as well as the cercal blades and telsons of some extinct eurypterids, (sea scorpions) namely Megalograptus.
