Description

The HP Omen X 27 supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which provides a variable refresh rate (VRR) within the 48-240Hz/FPS (Frames Per Second) range for compatible graphics cards. The HP Omen X 27 monitor sports a screen resolution of 2560×1440, which is for most people the ideal resolution for 27″ sized displays. Note that depending on how close you are watching the screen, this may be easier or more difficult to see. If you use your monitor at a high distance, the low PPI is less likely to bother you than if you use it up close. It's also not that different from products like the Pixio PX277 Pro, given the differences in inverse ghosting performance. Another product we often recommend is the Gigabyte M27Q, and the HP X27q we feel delivers the better experience.

Společnost HP není na trhu žádným nováčkem a produkty ztéto stáje jsou vhodné pro kancelářské, domácí i gamingové potřeby. Tentokrát zabrousíme do herního segmentu, a to smonitorem HP X27. Pojďme se podívat na to, jakou laťku HP nastavuje. Sikonkami, které reprezentují jednotlivé funkce, HP rozhodně nešetří. Platí tedy pravidlo, že čím víc samolepek, tím lépe? Of course, if you only use one of those displays, the difference during use will be minimal, but if you compare both, the motion blur of the HP x27c during the use of MPRT will be much more visible. Its materials are pretty great, its design is clean, and it has an ergonomic stand, all of which you won’t be finding pretty easy for the prices this monitor is costing right now. Connectors However, don’t expect the IPS or VA levels of color and contrast quality due to the monitor’s specified wide color gamut, HDR support, and local dimming features. Fortunately, this monitor has the same above-average quality materials as its 32-inch counterpart. Those do convey a high level of durability, which is noteworthy given the monitor’s low price point. They also opted to utilize an ergonomic stand for this model, as if quality materials weren’t enough for such a “budget” screen.Overall, the image quality isn’t bad. There’s a notable improvement over the older 1440p 144Hz TN models, such as the Dell S2716DG. We do get an extension to the Rec.709/sRGB gamut in the red, yellow and magenta directions, but no extension for greens or cyans. This creates a bit of unbalance for DCI-P3 coverage, we get decent coverage of reds, but poor for greens, and only 91.2% coverage in total. A bit strange, and not very suitable for displaying color accurate wide gamut images. Immerse yourself in even more colors and catch all the action with ultra-wide viewing angles of an IPS display in Full HD (1920 x 1080)[4]. Smooth Moves For the best image quality, we recommend using the ‘Native’ color temperature mode. Design & Connectivity

The HP Omen X 27 was the first 1440p 240Hz model available. When it was released, there were no IPS and VA alternatives. Nowadays, you can find an IPS or VA model with just as good performance and better image quality for the same price, thus making the Omen X 27 obsolete. Specifications Screen Size Very simple stand setup, normal bezels on three sides and a bit of a chin along the bottom edge. In going with something so basic, HP haven't ended up including any "gamer" design elements like RGB lighting or weird patterns, which is an approach we like. However, it definitely looks and feels like a monitor on the cheaper end of the scale. You get the perfect pixel-per-inch ratio of ~108 PPI (pixels per inch), resulting in vivid and crisp details as well as plenty of screen real estate without having to use any scaling.

Apart from that, the IPS screen shines with its vibrant colors (after calibration), so if you want to get the most of this model, I recommend you calibrate it. To top it off, this display wouldn’t be complete without a solid tearing-reduction function, which the AMD FreeSync Premium provided. The premium version of FreeSync has a wider operating range, which means you’ll get even better results with tear-free visuals and better smoothness. These IPS (XG27AQM) and curved VA (Samsung C27G7) 1440p 240Hz monitors offer just as fast response time, but with better image quality for the same price.

Maximum brightness is good, at a touch under 400 nits, which is what HP advertises. Most budget monitors of this class get around this bright, which is sufficient for indoor usage in most conditions. Minimum brightness is also solid at 43 nits, great for users in darker conditions. This monitor has the same overall aesthetics as its 32-inch older brother, but it is smaller, measuring 24.15 x 20.17 x 8.33 inches and weighing 15.20 lbs. Because of its average size and lower weight, this one appeals to a wider audience, and it surely has the necessary to be mainstream. The HP X27 high peak brightness also aids the IPS in maintaining accurate colors. However, the higher this ratio is set, the more you’ll notice IPS shining, especially in a dark room, so keep that in mind. What’s more, since there are only 16 dimming zones, they cannot quite keep up with fast-moving objects, which will introduce noticeable trailing/glowing. So, for fast-paced gaming, make sure local dimming is disabled. Unlike some of its competitors, it also includes a regular RGB subpixel layout, so text clarity is crystal clear.

In general, this display does not have a traditional gaming appearance. The HP X32 surprised us with its gaming features, but casual look. And this one will most likely cause the same. All performance specifications represent the typical specifications provided by HP's component manufacturers; actual performance may vary either higher or lower. Results may vary based on quality of the original picture/photo/video and difference between the previous monitor settings compared to the HP Enhance + mode.
