About this deal

The hop half of the fuselage houses the motor and gearbox, which directs motor output to one (or more) of four operations. It fits in the same space and requires no further modification. All that's needed is three additional 8-tooth gears. In the review I posted earlier I concluded that 42113 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey has a design flaw that causes parts to become damaged, and that could well be the real reason why its release has been cancelled. I then read a post on Facebook by Kenneth who said that he moved the gears to the other side of the yellow 'biscuit' that you can see above, and supported them more securely, which fixed it for him. Whatever the reason, you'd have thought it would have become apparent much earlier in its design lifecycle.

The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey is a tiltrotor aircraft for VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) missions and is operated by the U.S. Air Force, Marines, and Navy, as well as the Japan Self-Defense Forces. Although some examples are equipped to play search and rescue operations, the V-22 is not operated by any civilian sources. If you can find it at RRP, you might as well buy it, but not bother building it, given it can only increase in value. If not, spend the money on something else that works properly. The Lego distributor in Vietnam put the set on the shelf early. I bought it. I paid a photocopy shop to have it scanned.

OPLYSNING: Vi kan optjene en provision, hvis du bruger et af vores links til at foretage et køb uden omkostninger for dig. There is also a real life white-red color scheme for the Osprey. This is the first flight (maiden flight) of the Osprey. In July, the German Peace Society issued a warning against LEGO releasing the licensed V-22. Despite rebranding of the aircraft in the set to make it a search and rescue aircraft, the German Peace Society released a statement saying: On 1. August 2020 LEGO® plans to release its first ever military set while internal corporate value documents forbid the production of current military vehicles. The German DFG-VK also criticises the license placed on the set. With every buy, customers help to finance arms companies. The first large plastic bag brings a couple of handy elements. Technic panel with angle 5×11 (part number 18945 / element ID 6112843) comes in dark gray for the first time and has enormous potential for fan creations. Technic T-beam 3×3 in orange ( 60484/6305545) is a nice little surprise and a great addition to a vast family of orange pieces we have available today.

The motor powers four movements. The battery box is switched on and off using a red lever on the front left-hand-side of the fuselage, which can be seen in the pictures above. Two switches on either side behind the wings operate the gearbox. No matter how you display the V-22, it looks stunning from any angle. The top, the sides, and even the bottom are decorated with panels, so there no gears or axles exposed. I wonder why they used double cross connectors in light gray instead of dark gray. The piece can be found in dark gray in several other sets available today. A bunch of light gray connectors here and there ruins the color scheme a little bit. Although the model is 20″/53 cm long, there is not that much space inside the hull. The transmission components sit very tightly together; you can spot a small actuator placed next to the motor, which you don’t see in LEGO Technic sets that often. Building solutions and combinations of elements like these make official sets so valuable in terms of building experience. However, the gearbox contains a serious design flaw, the likes of which we've never encountered in a Technic model before. I've managed to break it within a few hours of building it. If the mechanisms are kept within their limits and operated in a particular way, they operate fairly well, but it's all too easy to strain the motor and break the gears.I don’t like to complain about the LEGO pieces’ condition, but one of the curved panels 5x13x2 came with a massive scratch on the top. You can easily spot it if you open the picture in full-size. Of course, the customer service is always there to replace any damaged parts. Still, I wonder how on Earth these relatively light plastic parts can get scratched on its way out from the factory.

What this list has: All of the Orange liftarms and panels and system parts in the part list above, but in Red. That means it does include the parts in Orange exclusive to this set, but those parts are listed in Red. What this list has: All existing parts with the exact colors in the official part list above, and all the new parts and parts with new color listed in the previous question but in different colors. The rear ramp is quite a complicated mechanism driven by a small actuator. What makes it remarkable is that it consists of two halves of different sizes. They also move at different speeds. What this list doesn't have: All parts with new color listed in the previous question in the original colors. Unfortunately, there's only a very ineffective safety mechanism for the rotor blades, reliant on friction pins, so when they foul on anything the gearbox seizes and the motor stalls. This is almost certainly going to happen at one time or another because when the blades are vertical they touch the ground, which of course prevents them from rotating.

IF I DON'T MIND AN INCONSISTENT COLOR SCHEME, DO I NEED ALL OF THE PARTS IN THE LIST ABOVE TO RECONSTRUCT A REPLICA OF 42113?

It turns out that adding a second set of three gears is actually much simpler. Rather than have one set of gears surrounded by two 3l beams in the middle of the gearbox, why not have 2 sets of gears with one beam between them, like this: You can see the battery box clearly here. It's possible to change the batteries without needing to remove it, or disassemble anything. Thankfully, it's relatively easy to get the gearbox out of the aircraft to work on it. You can see the mangled gears underneath. The new battery box has been officially released by Lego as a standalone set with the set number 88015. You can buy it directly from online Lego shops. We are used to criticizing LEGO Technic sets for being inaccurate in terms of scale and shaping. However, this V-22 Osprey model is a very accurate copy of the prototype depicted at the end of the instructions. The shape looks great, and the proportions are beautiful, not to mention a lot of moving parts inside and outside of the aircraft. No because all of the other components for the main functions, namely gears and the L-motor, have all been released in other sets, and there are ways to get around the requirement for the new dumb battery box.
